I have very little interest in anything that can be described with the words "urban", "hip hop", or "rap" but Rapmon and Suga from BTS are seriously talented. From debut they've created most of their own music which places them ahead of, well, mostly everybody. And it's good, which is a plus.
They are also exceptional dancers.
So. Do the math.

look not to grasp at straws but if you actually give BTS the time of day it becomes clear that they're quality
they're corny and doing a concept that is indeed done to death, but they're probably the best at it as far as non-YG acts go
I think the issue is a lot of people who come for acts on that basis already don't like hip-hop to begin with though
