I'm not sure why it matters if I'm in every Hilary thread or not (and I can't really be in every thread unless she has only 5 threads or something) or how that means that my point of view is no longer valid.

I agree, I wanted her single to be good. I wasn't hoping to have something to cringe to. Play With Fire was my jam! I'd love more like that. Simply put, I'd prefer her to be more Kylie than Colbie.

You're twisting my words though. It's not that I just enjoy talking about bad things, it's that I enjoy discussing pop music in general and that includes both good and bad songs. Do you only share your opinion if it is favourable? And in any discussion, the good and bad must be welcomed if it is to be a fair discussion. Delusion and bias is one thing, but differing opinions are what propels discussion forward, unless you think this conversation should just be a bunch of "BUZZ SINGLE! SLAY QUEEN DUFF" comments.

There is nothing wrong with giving a little something. I think there is something a bit wrong with never calling something a buzz single and then labelling it as such once you see the general reaction to it though. And I did see comments of Hilary fans in regards to her smashing, but I am not one to label an entire group guilty of the actions of a few, so yes I'll agree.

Why do people in this thread say that the song exceeded expectations? If it did, it wouldn't have been made a buzz single. But there's nothing wrong with that and I hope the new lead single will be a bit better cause 'Chasing The Sun' is a really disappointing comeback single.

Aren't "first" and "lead" synonyms though? Though "first" is more of a chronological descriptor, we then could call the "real" lead single the "second single" if we are using this methodology.

I think it's obvious that with the little promo she had for it, the long wait and the (in my opinion) less than stellar quality it did pretty well for itself.
