i love what FKA is doing, and that's so against the norm is probably the one driving factor for her. she's clearly talented in all areas (which is quite rare) but her whole aesthetic makes people actually take a second glance which is what any artist craves for.
she isn't really any particular genre, just filed under alternative i guess. she is right in that if she wasn't biracial (had some black in her), she wouldn't be classed as R&B. more dreamy~pop maybe.
just heard 2 weeks and it sucks
now im listening to beggin for thread which sounds alot cooler. Banks personality shines alot brighter on it even when it sounds monotone. I think im team the latter
I was able to choke out a whisper of “thank you so much for standing up for Gay rights. almost cried here from the bottom of my heart.” Lady Gaga looked me squarely in the eye, reached out and gently grabbed my arm and squeezed ever so slightly and said “you’re welcome” and the feeling I got was just radiating love. It was such an amazing moment, and I’ll never forget it.
