How much did 12YAS end up grossing? Just curious. I didn't follow up on that movie at all.
Flop in US, hit outside of US. American audiences are clearly not comfortable seeing slavery depicted if it's in a serious manner. 12YAS did kind of make Django Unchained irrelevant though.
It's almost Halloween and Kesher wanted to dress up as her most favoritest of idols this year! She still gets choked up even just thinking about how if it weren't for Gagz she would never have even been given (and subsequently now blown) her chance to actually even BE here in the first place... due to reasons which are obvious and also as the direct consequence of Gagz arranging to have someone cover $hamu's scheduled work shift tonight at what could be any given one of the two locations listed for Long John Silver's in town.
1. none of the pop stars are respected (except maybe Adele) in the eyes of...well any adult outside of pop forums. they are all seen as talentless and only successful because of gimmicks/their looks/shock factor (and the sad part is they are right). you can thank Madge for that
2. Iggy f*cked T.I. a white Australian rapper chick did not get a record deal without a little sucking, people. neither did Rihanna, Katy, Rita Ora etc. and God only knows what kind of vile thing did Matthew made Bey perform to get her record deal
The fact that the supposed cheaper American version of her (Katy) ended up making much better music and being more respected
