Not sure how I feel about this. I'll have to hear her rock music, and not the "rock" that her fans are claiming BTW was. Here for her power ballads though!
After selling over 150,000,000 records, winning over 200 awards, grossing over $450,000,000 on tour, Gaga can afford to move on and do different genres. Unlike some, she's not forced by her label into a box where she has to do the same thing over and over, she can expand and showcase her real talents.
Artists who have sold over 150,000,000 records don't get dropped.
No, but her contractual obligement will have been met - i.e. releasing 5 albums. It will be up to her then if she wants to stay with Interscope (where she's suffered and fought with for the past 2 albums), or go completely independent where she can release what she wants, do what she wants and when she likes.
She has enough of a name and good PR to do so, and be fine with it.
Let me quote her to you, "I don't want to be in a box", from the start of her career she's been saying she wants to break down the boundaries of what pop stars are supposed to do/be.

It's not about experimenting with others genres, i'm all for that
Gays on the Internet thinking the only way to succeed is through pop music. Some of the biggest, most successful musicians in the industry are people who make "classic rock".
Those musicians cater to a specific demographic though, which doesn't include the fierce homosexual queens that comprise 99% of her fan base. Gaga has already alienated a lot of fans through Born This Way & ARTPOP... if she strays even further from the pop aspect of her brand that made her popular in the first place, who knows what kind of floppage will occur?
But why people are in here talking about how this is a bad move is kinda beyond me.
Last time people told her what they wanted (straight up fun pop songs), we got ARTPOP, which not only underperformed, but a lot of people on here apparently hate (But that wasn't the case before the numbers came in, hihi).
Just let Gaga do ha thing.
honestly, they should not stan Gaga to begin with, these are her roots, this is her destiny
But honey, lets think about our fave's ability to execute a project here. Yes, those are brilliant! We'd all be here for some of that! But how likely is it that she's going to pull off a full album of all that?
I'll wait until we get a finished product to really melt down because it could honestly be her best work yet if executed properly, but HOW are you gonna tell me that people who aren't here for something she's not exactly known for shouldn't stan her? 99.9% of her fanbase originated in her pop years. Pop music is what she's known for.
I don't see the problem, we all know she changes her mind, I'm not a fan of Gaga but if she does decide to ditch Pop and go down this route, she could end up doing better.
