Naw. You just don't know how to navigate through ********.
If he's hyping that people bought 1 million copies of a snippet like it's impressive then whats the difference in me saying over 3 million people bought Irreplaceable (RIAA certified ringtone) and its only 30 seconds?
Because a ringtone isn't a song on iTunes. That's an entirely separate market, and Rih has plenty of certified ringtones too.
She's alternative even from a more retro perspective. She's a bit like Mazzy Star meets Portishead with bits of Lou Reed and Fleetwood Mac thrown in. UV was very Pink Floyd-esque. I would classify her overall discography as alternative rock. BTD is the only one with a *relatively* more commercial sound but even that is alternative pop, chamber pop, or trip hop at best. She may be "popular," but sonically and lyrically, she is very much an alternative artist who rests more in the indie rock genre.

It doesn't matter. Both items are sold on iTunes and no Rihanna (your fave) does NOT have a ringtone that has sold 3 million copies not has she even come close to selling as many as Beyonce overall.
