All Too Well • State Of Grace • Holy Ground


But as of lately, it's the ones I mentioned earlier. ATW is one of ha best, but I find it sounding better in the fall/winter times. And as much as it's a great song, do you or anybody else thinks the production/melody is a little forgettable?!

I kind of think SBT is better tbh. Especially after hearing that demo version posted on tumblr.

When Jordan was just 9 months old, he was diagnosed with Williams Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder. Because of the Syndrome, he has both physical and developmental disabilities. He also had a severe heart condition. At just 18 months old, he underwent open heart surgery to repair part of his aorta. Everyone thought that would be his biggest battle. In the last 6 years he has overcome so much. He grows and learns more everyday. He is, by far, the sweetest boy you could ever meet.

Unfortunately, that initial cardiac battle would prove to not be his hardest. On July 24, 2014, Jordan was diagnosed with Leukemia. He is currently in Childrens Hospital Boston and faces a long struggle.


Genetic disorder at 9 months.

Open heart surgery at 18 months.

And now leukaemia.

What kind of poor kid.

The production is one of my fave parts Aside from the flawless lyrics.

I've been listening to the instrumental albums and it's amazing how strongly Taylor relies on continuous and varying lyrical melodies to make her songs catchy rather than letting the beat or production take center stage. Mean is a perfect example of what I'm getting at. There's not much to the song's production, it's just there to offer background to the strong lyrical melodies.

Another interesting thing I noticed is her frequent use of instrumental hooks following choruses. Sparks Fly and Speak Now have a little guitar solo. Mean has that swaying banjo bit. My favorite is Begin Again's accordion after the first chorus ends. I realize this is a general technique in pop music in general, but I feel like Taylor excels at it and makes it feel special.

The production of the 1st half is kinda forgettable but the build up to the bridge woo Lord and the imagery together with the production in the last part make me think of images of her failed relationship flashing right in front of her eyes
