Maybe she thought she had to live it before she could write about it!

No. She understands. Rather than spoon feeding us what she wants, she prefers to give us the reverse warholian experience. A marvel for us to treasure, the reality of art and pop combining.

Of course. Did the Born This Way era teach us nothing? 'Halfway between fantasy and reality at all times.'
Gaga seriously needs to pull a ***Flawless remix type situation with Sexxx Dreams. A RihMix would be perfect and it can be production and structure wise more like the Swinefest version (no adlibs, slightly slower, original bridge). Just surprise release and lowkey film a video with Rih and put it out. I'd die.

Like, I want Gaga to be happy but I still want good relatable music.
Is that too much to ask for? Am I being selfish?

Gaga listened to what people said they wanted for ARTPOP, thinking she'd deliver the ideal album for them, which was a big mistake because people have no idea what they want from her.
We see it daily in here with fans demanding the return of X, Y and Z because it worked before.
Don't really blame her after BTW. She was probably being pulled in so many directions for what to do next.

Why do you always have to talk like you're above everyone here? I know very well about Gaga and her fanbase because I've been a part of it for 6 ****ing years. When she was just breaking through with Just Dance and doing the club circuit and about to release The Fame, she was cool, and she was polarizing ... but people loved her. Sure, there were some people that were like "one hit wonder," but the majority of hardcore pop fans back then were like "Just Dance is cool, but there's even better stuff on the album" and "this chick is gonna be around for a long time," and "This Gaga girl is the next big thing." She was cute, she was spunky, she was completely unique and different from anything that was being offered in pop music at the time.
And then, as I said, once she finally broke through and Poker Face became a hit and her album was selling like hot cakes, the rumors started coming out and people started ragging on her. And that was when all the middle and high schools kids started getting into her and loving her singles, and she really was cool back then. I can speak for this because I was in high school then. People loved Gaga and they loved Poker Face and Just Dance and Paparazzi, and eventually Bad Romance and Telephone. I don't give a **** what the press was saying and what rumors she had, she was the it girl and she was cool to like back then.
But that slowly wore off by the end of TFM era, and BTW killed it completely. It wasn't cool to like Gaga anymore. It wasn't cool to have BTW on your iPod, even though she still had a lot of people who were interested in her and liked her music. And now, it just seems like no one really cares or even knows she has new music out. You're absolutely right, she solidified a strong fanbase during BTW, but it, for the most part, wasn't the fanbase she began gathering during TF and TFM. BTW made a lot of her original twenty-something fans who followed her in the clubs and watched her rise to fame run away. Does she still have a lot of older fans? Of course, she always will, but her main fanbase of gay middle and high schoolers are a lot easier to impress and pander to than the young adult/older gay and straight, male and female, fans that I at least know from my experience on forums with them back in the day.
That's my take on it. That's my experience.

Well, Nick, you are absolutely right. Especially on the bolded parts.
It really happened just the way you said it happened. TF was the ****. TFM continued but Alejandro video started the fallout with the gp and BTW tore apart whatever was left from spunky Gaga and took us to the place where it is nearly impossible to have another platinum album.

The post Nick made above is so true. These popular girls 2 years older than me danced to Just Dance in a school talent show, and everyone loved it. I don't really see that anymore.

I dont know what is so hard to understand. Back in the days she used to be liked by almost everyone. She had the world in the palm of her hand from 2008 to june 2010. The downfall started with the Alejandro video.BTW finished what the Alejandro video had started. Now it isnt cool to like her. Her casual listeners and a big part of her fans are gone. She had the opportunity to bring them with Artpop but she failed. If the next album is anything like Artpop or BTW everything will be over. End. Finito

I agree and it's exactly what I said above. I still think though that Applause, DWUW and Gypsy are perfect songs to bring the gp back. Too bad the era was handled so poorly.

So now we're back at hating BTW again? smh
And to be fair, do you guys really think she listened to fans asking for 'fun pop again'? She just made the music she wanted to make, which was ARTPOP. I think the problem here is that you guys think that ARTPOP is the 'fun pop' music you guys asked for, but it's actually not. It's just what Gaga wanted and it happened to be more popish and more fun than her previous album.

Applause is not. But DWUW is . But no, because she is a drama queen, she did not want to film a video for 2-3 days and release it. If DWUW had a video, it would have been a hit. Because DWUW is one of her best song of all time. Pfffff someotimes she makes me so angry.

Not me, I never really liked the album and I seriously considered myself part of the gp that got scared by it, but my approach to it, is irrelevant. What happened was, what Nick said and I have to agree with him on this one. Her fanbase mostly loved the album for obvious reasons, but for the bigger audience, the album was alienating and there's no escaping it despite the good quality of it. I think BTW has some very high quality songs, but as I said, it is irrelevant.

In all fairness, people said ARTPOP was going to make or break her but it did neither. It was just kind of a mediocre performance. So who knows what'll happen.

Can you imagine if Gaga did a Gypsy remix with Sam Smith and turned it into a duet? Could be the biggest hit of her career

You sure?
Media draggings, twitter meltdowns, fans jumping ship, low sales, terrible critical acclaim, not even a grammy nomination while a certain song got nominated etc.....
