I screamed at that Though it's not Her fault that she has so many amazing songs! Too hard to choose. I died a bit at Making Out being voted for for No Doubt too, even though that's like my ultimate bop of all time. Cancelled 4th single

8. Prince - The greatest musical genius in our top 10. Listening to him is a trip at times, but the quality of his output makes him more than worth anyone's while.
7. Janet - Queen! With as many naysayers as she has on here, I'm just glad she made it this far! And your writeup for her was BEAUTIFUL, Ace!
6. Whitney - Quit bashing her. Rihanna, Kylie, Britney, Beyonce, Mariah, nor Madonna have a singular talent greater than Whitney's ability to sing. Bar Madge, and alongside Janet, she's the most influential female artist to emerge in the last 3 decades.
5. Britney - I was SURE she'd be higher. ATRL does worship the ground she walks on a BIT too much, but I'm just old enough to remember her at her peak. She kinda does epitomize the post 90s pop star.
4. Beyoncé - Like Britney, she shouldn't be above the women who paved the way for her (hey Tina, Whit, and Jan!), but she's our generation's most beloved star!
3. Mariah - A bit TOO high, but I love it that she doesn't fit squarely into the pop star box or the singer-songwriter box.
2. MJ - If I had done this, he would've been my #1. I wasn't around for his prime, but he was truly larger than life in a way that no pop star since has been. Slay. Also, Katherine Jackson's uterus should be an American national treasure.
1. Madonna - A bit predictable, but it's deserved. I love how relentlessly creative she is.

ME! because it's her best song (well, maybe aside from Frozen & LAP) and criminally underrated.

Sorry that I got a bit quiet, but I've still been following this list closely and am pretty pleased with the outcome. I will continue to rebuke the Spice Girls charting outside top 20 and All Saints being so low until the day I die, but still. With the exception of Prince, the top 10 is pretty much perfect!

Also, some of you guys have awful taste. Like, who picks Hero as their favorite Mariah song? Or a Damita Jo album track as their favorite Janet song? You Are Not Alone?! And anyone who thinks Frozen/The Power of Goodbye is Madonna's best doesn't deserve to have ears.
