Because Dark Horse went platinum without even being officially released as a single. The GP loved Dark Horse and it was guaranteed to be a smash. Anything released in it's time was overshadowed until Happy came along.

She is the epitome of entertainer. Anyone who knows anything about entertainment & music knows she is the perfect package. Those in the industry consider her the standard, and she is ALWAYS brought up in regards to being what you should strive to achieve. Her work ethic is untouched. Her constant praise, and plethora of titles and awards, are just a few of the receipts needed to prove my point.
And why are people acting like Bey isn't a huge selling artist? 200M records is medicore. And comparing her to Katy who is in her prime? Bey is in her 17th year as an artist in the public eye. Will Katy still be touring and selling as much when she's nearing almost 2 decades in the business?
Beyonce is viewed as some kind of Goddess who is above all of her musical peers. Why is this? Beyoncè has only sold 3.36M albums worldwide - Katy's PRISM sold approximately this amount and people deem the album as a flop. Not to mention that these numbers pail in comparison to people such a Adele, Pink, Taylor & a few more, yet none of these people are viewed on the same level as her. The supposed 'biggest artist in the world' should be outselling all of these people, but the fact is - she's not. She hasn't had a #1 single in years and most of her singles underperform / flop. Why is this? Is it wrong that the hive and some of the GP assume she is the biggest artist? Is Beyonce just known for hype rather than her actual music and sales?
On a touring aspect, people such as Rihanna & Pink perform similarly to her & Madonna is higher than everyone.
1. Prism is not deemed a flop
2. All those artists did about 10x the promo
3. She promoted drunk in love and then went to #2 the following week. All her other singles have been messily released.
4. Beyoncé performs better than Rihanna commercially on tours, and of course Madonna's going to ahead of everyone when she's had a 30 year career full of hits.
P!nk is really the only other popstar who has a true ability on stage. But I think the difference is that when P!nk is on stage she slays it, whereas Beyonce tears it down.
