DJ Mustard is kinda taking over the radio, isn't he? I heard so many of his songs today. Including on Pop. Poor Dr Luke. It's refreshing to hear songs that aren't made for 14 year old white girls.
Some things are just common sense. No one has surpassed Britney Spears. Katy Perry is bigger than Rihanna.
Lady Gaga was a fad. R&B is trash right now. These are all common sense statements.
You can make a case for Brandy being an "icon" in the urban community. But it's when you start LYING (calling her a global icon and calling her a legend) is when you start to sound dumb.
Teenage Dream sold more than any Rihanna album released this decade and her Canadian leg of the PWT will be more successful than any Rihanna tour there.
Get it?
Canada is irrelevant. With that midget white trash and Avril, who would even want to claim receipts from there. The only good thing to come out of there is the god Ryan Gosling.
No one in the past two decades cared about Madonna except the middle aged and the tasteless gays who think they're proud of being gay by stanning for a old hag who did nothing but use the gays throughout her entire career. Her Superbowl performance was I went to the class the next day and people had forgotten she was alive and that those lungs were still breathing in oxygen. My mom literally only knows one Madonna song and that's 'Like A Prayer'. As for the rest of my family they know at least three Mariah Carey songs. My twenty year old sister knows Fantasy, Always Be My Baby, Hero, We Belong Together, Shake It Off, My All, etc. Poor Maleficient.
d; this is evry tru. Same thing w/ me, I went to school the next day and NOBODY opened their mouth about that bad performance. But fast forward a year; everyone at school was talking about Beyonce's performance. Even if she was Madonna's age and performed everyone would still talk about it the next day. That's the difference between a fad and a legend who's impacted music. Even Bruno Mars generated some type of discussion the next day. It's so funny too, 'cus like she performed all those 'memorable!1! hits' but nobody knew them, nobody sung along, barely any charted on iTunes after, etc. It was so sad. Then her single still flopped and sank down the charts. Nobody is truly here for her at this point.
Rihanna sold more albums than katy this decade (not even counting Rated R) and she sells just as many singles and her average gross is kind of the same so Rihanna > Katy.
Madonna sold twice as much as Mariah during 2000-2009. It's interesting because Mariah was just in her second decade while Madonna was in her third. Didn't Mariah have the "biggest comeback in history!1!1" during the 2000's. Something aint adding up
I mean, you can belittle Brandy's success and all, but at the end of the day, people love her and respect her dearly
Just look at all the damn celebrities praising her and thanking her for her influence. Meanwhile Rihanna can cling onto some made up award calling her an Icon
lol @how the well just dried the f-up with "most-personal album to date"
With Britney and Ke$ha already out of the way and hopefully Katy following soon, the music scene will be in a MUCH better place. Enough manufactured popstars for 11 year olds.
