Zedd: Moment of Serenity World Tour – Night 5 (Six Flags New England)

Zedd continued his worldwide Moment of Serenity Tour at Six Flags New England tonight, despite the unfortunate occurrence and controversy earlier today on the radio station Mix 93.1. This concert was held at a temporary venue in a smaller parking lot behind the park, allowing for many fans to watch the concert. As this leg will have varying stage specifications to conform to various venues, there isn’t a specified stage design (it also isn’t completed for the other legs yet). Besides, it probably is best not to have expensive stage equipment sitting outside, exposed to the elements. Anyway, the stage pretty much consists of the stage itself and an HD video screen, as well as the necessary equipment for the concert, such as lighting and speakers.
The concert started at approximately 6 pm local time. The park did not need to close the park as the venue was outside the park; however, the park was pretty much dead after 5:30 pm. 19,643 fans packed into the general admission lawn area. At this concert, standard lawn tickets were $45, 5000 VIP tickets were $85 (a section closer to the stage, and 10 Super VIP tickets (special area in front of stage + meet and greet) were $150; a total of four others were given away in Boston and Hartford, Connecticut. One was meant to be given away by Zedd on Mix 93.1, but we all know how that turned out. Zedd also chooses a random person from the VIP section to join the meet and greet. This concert is about the same size as the one at Six Flags America, and it is much larger than the ones at La Ronde, Six Flags Great America, and Six Flags St. Louis. It is sure to bring in a huge amount amount of revenue to the tour. Concertgoers have all declared the concert amazing, despite an official stage design.
The concept of the concert is that Zedd is a DJ working his way up in the world. He starts out with an introduction that explains the backstory of the concert. After the introduction, Zedd finds himself DJing at a house party. He does a couple of tracks for them and then he leaves. There is an interlude of Conduit prior to him arriving at his next gig: a rave. He plays the Gaga-inspired track “Slay,” and then Lady Gaga herself makes a surprise appearance to sing “Temple,” “Stache,” and “Aura.” Zedd then realizes he needs to break free of this monotone life of DJing. He runs off the stage, leaving in the middle of “Shave It Up.” He returns when the song finishes and begins to break free of his monotone life of being a small-time DJ to make his move into what he was longing for, the EDM industry as a whole. Of course, during part of this he plays “Break Free.” He ends up finding success and no longer has a single problem in his life.
During the concert, every song from Serenity was performed. The concert started out with “Beautiful Sky,” which transitioned smoothly into “G.U.Y.” The rest of the concert incorporated all of the songs of Serenity, some of Clarity, and two Zedd songs from ARTPOP. As the concert ended, Zedd made a short speech: “As you all may already know, my friend Marina and the Diamonds is currently in a medically-induced coma. I was actually in the car next to her, so I had to watch the whole thing. It was terrible. Luckily she is still alive, but who knows for how long. We were supposed to tour together, but she cancelled the tour due to low album sales. No one expected this to happen. In honor of her, I will play a few of her songs.” Zedd then played “Primadonna,” “Happy Meal,” “Where The Diamonds Grow,” and “Myths.” After “Myths” ended, roaring applause and a 3-minute standing ovation came from the audience. People then left to buy Serenity and “Temple” at shops and booths nearby the venue.

Selena Gomez On Larry King Live

Last night, Selena took the VMA stage to give what critics are calling one of the best award show performances ever. There was fire, there was water -- and there were guns. Selena's use of pantomimed guns upset many parents, especially the Parents Television Council. The PTC has put out a statement that if an apology was not put out, they would potentially fine MTV and Selena. Selena Gomez joined Larry King on Larry King Live tonight to discuss the issue and give her take. Read an except from the interview below.
Larry King: Hello. Tonight I'm here with the pop sensation whose last album sold over one million copies, and was the most talked about performer at last nights VMAS. Say hello to Selena Gomez. Thank you for coming.
Selena: Hi, hi. No problem.
Larry King: So let's get down too it. What motivated you to pantomime the use of guns in your performance.
Selena: Well, the song I did is called Best, which speaks on topics like feminism and our culture. I wanted the performance to mimic that in a way. Like everything I did last night had a purpose.
Larry King: Explain the concept of the performance from beginning to end.
Selena: Well it started out with me in the water. I was swimming and the scenery and track that was playing had a very pretty, delicate vibe too it. Then Best starts playing, and Best is a very loud and in your face song. The transition from the water part to the part with the fire was to reflect that sometimes, we women are very light and delicate and pretty, but then sometimes we have to leave all that behind and turn into something bigger and stronger.
Larry King: So where did the use of guns come in?
Selena: It was a representation of women combating the misogynistic and sexist culture we live in.
Larry King: Do you thin it was a wise choice?
Selena: I do, it got my point across.
Larry King: The PTC wants you to issue an apology. Do you plan on doing that?
Selena: I do not. That wouldn't be in my character.
Larry King: What do you want to say to the PTC?
Selena: I think the PTC should focus less on what's going on on television, and start to worry more about what's happening in the real world. I mean with Gaza, all the gun violence in Chicago and just so much other stuff - we have bigger things to worry about than Selena Gomez pretending to shoot a gun. And what I also think people need to know is that I am an artist and a performer - I was playing a character. Just as I would do in a music video and just like any other artist would do in their field. I was playing like, an agent or James Bond type character. So if you're not gonna police James Bond, don't police me.

TARGET DEAL
(LIMITED EDITION OF 'ELECTRIC PRINCESS')
Available online at Target.com and in Target stores now. The limited edition is also being sold on Taylor Swift's online store.
The release of Taylor Swift's seventh studio album occurred this past weekend, on Sunday to particular. At midnight, 12:01, Swift's seventh studio album, entitled 'Electric Princess' hit the top spot on the iTunes albums charts following a week of pre-orders that music insiders say are over one hundred thousand copies, making it one of the most pre-ordered albums in history for the amount of time it was on pre-order. "The pre-orders for the album are very strong. Much stronger than we were expecting and we're talking about Taylor Swift the phenomenon" Tigerlily Recordings CEO Vanessa Walker told Billboard in an interview with the label owner. "The sales projected for this record are off to what we are expecting. We can't release any official statements of the sales we're looking at for the album but at the end of this week you will see as I believe we will meet our expectations with the strong promotion and deals we have lined up for the biggest female artist of the past decade. We have faith in Taylor and she has faith in us. That's how any relationship with an artist and record label should work. If not well… get it together" she told Billboard. Taylor Swift was interviewed alongside her as well. "I really do trust them like I trust my friends and family. Because really they are my friends and family. With Big Machine, Scott did an amazing job of getting me good promotion but he would make me get in the studio with producers I didn't want to work with. I wasn't really fond of that at all. So when my contract was up, I left and signed on to the best offer. It was this one. There was not a glimpse of doubt in my mind. Hopefully, this is the label I make my last album on. I don't see myself going anywhere else" Taylor spoke.
More promotion came today as one of those deals Tigerlily Recordings CEO Vanessa Walker mentioned in her interview with Billboard alongside Taylor Swift was announced. Taylor would log onto twitter, Facebook, and her social media networks to announce a special deal for her album 'Electric Princess' she'd scored through retailer Target. Taylor would announced the deal in a video that was posted to her Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and lastly Targets official website and their social media networks too.. The video began with Taylor sitting on a red couch in front of a huge Target logo. "Hey everyone it's Taylor Swift and I'm here to announce a special deal I have through the one and only Target. Being sold for a limited amount of time is the Special Target Edition of my brand new album 'Electric Princess'. The Target special of the album contains an exclusive slipcase, two posters, a flash drive with exclusive footage in making the album, and lastly six exclusive never heard before tracks that you won't be able to hear anywhere else except on the Target edition of the album. I hope you guys run out to get your copy and you can actually order it online in a link below! Thank you all so much and I wish nothing but love and laughter for you. See you guys later!" Taylor waved by to the camera before as the Target logo appeared along with a little citation thing that directed them to order the limited edition of the album.
Immediately following the announcement of the limited edition of 'Electric Princess', thousands of copies were bought of the edition, immediately going number one Target.com after it crashed the site for about fifteen minutes. Many people took videos of fans in big cities lining up to grab a copy of the special edition in their local storms, the videos making their way up online and to Taylor who RT'd them with words like "That's absolutely crazy. I hope there's enough for everyone if not sorry there's more on the way". Over ten thousand copies of the special edition were sold in the first six hours out of the four hundred thousand copies that were produced worldwide. The special edition was also made available on Taylor's website which surprised many. The album's six bonus tracks were too produced by Giorgio Moroder and are songs that Taylor felt didn't really work with the cohesiveness that the standard thirteen tracks had. "I do adore the six songs that didn't make it because in fact they were supposed to. It's just they didn't sound or stand out enough in the midst of the other tracks. So we had to switch it up." Fans loved the new six tracks, many saying that Taylor gave away almost an entirely new album on the same week as she released a new one. The deal overall has been a major success for Target and Taylor. Commercials of Taylor promoting the limited edition were filmed and are being aired in promotion for 'Electric Princess' and the Target Special Edition, using Taylor's least single 'Cathedrals'.

Fool's Paradise European Release

Selena Gomez's third solo studio is finally being release in Europe! It's already been released in France (7/30), is being released today in Spain & Germany and will be available for sale everywhere else in Europe tomorrow! Selena has been in France for the past week (except for a trip back to the US for the VMAs) promoting the album and working the French circuit. Well now, Selena is giving fans in seven exclusive cities even BIGGER stuff.
 | Selena Gomez will be embarking on a promotional trip (which she urges is "NOT A TOUR!" where she hits seven cities to promote the European release of her album Fool's Paradise. Five cities will be in Europe and two in North America. Supporting her on the promo trip will be new boy toy, Vic Mensa (we'll give you the details on THAT later). The five European cities she's hitting are Saint-Denis in France, Barcelona in Spain, Milan in Italy, Dortmund in Germany and Lisbon in Portugal. Then she'll be making her way back to the US to do a show in Los Angeles and then down to Mexico, for the last date which will be in Mexico City. The trip is titled "7 Nights In Heaven" - obviously a play off of the infamous game 7 Minutes In Heaven. Selena commented on the title saying "I called it this because, like the game, it'll only be happening for a short amount of time. But anything can happen in Heaven." While Selena will definitely be touring Europe in the future (probably not until her next album), we're told the reason this show is so exclusive and important is because like we mentioned above, she doesn't plan on touring, and Selena feels like she's in her "artistic prime" both creatively, performance wise and musically. "This'll probably be my best show ever." she tells us. "I purposefully made the show only seven dates because I really want this to be a special experience. A once in a lifetime thing. I want anyone who comes to this show to feel lucky and exclusive." she also said. A promotional video is played on the singers website (where the image next to this was originally posted), in which she did a voice over that said "I am a gypsy. I run from city to city. I am a natural born nomad. I am elusive. I'm hard to catch. So come see if you can catch me." Vic Mensa, rapper and singer of the hit single "Down On My Luck" will be traveling with Selena from city to city as the supporting act. He was quoted as saying "I've been performing at different events in Europe but nothing of this magnitude. I haven't played in actual stadiums and hopped from country to country every other day. I'm mad excited to get to experience that with someone as hard-working, beautiful, down to earth and talented as Selena. And I'm so thankful to her for giving me this opportunity." Selena commented on Vic saying, "For me to ask anyone to be my supporting act, that means I really have to respect you and your artistry and I definitely appreciate that among other things about Vic." The first show kicks off on August 1st and tickets are on sale NOW. |
New Couple Alert: Selena will be on several French programs before the first show including two today. Selena landed back into France from the US on a private jet at around midnight. Vic landed here via private jet at about 7AM with a black Range Rover waiting for him. Apparently, Selena was in the Range waiting for him as she tweeted "In the back of that limousine, Billy Bob & Angeline" along with a picture (which can be seen below). When they were exiting out of the Four Seasons this morning, a paparazzi asked Vic what was his favorite thing he's done in Europe so far, as he's been here often recently. His answer? "Sex in the back of a range". This reminds us of this Billy Bob Thornton and Angelina Jolie clip from 2000. The two were holding hands so it's safe to assume this is more than just a fling. Especially when you pair it with the fact that they'll be traveling together for the next two weeks. Selena's been relatively quiet on the dating scene lately (except for her birthday!) so it wouldn't shock us if she's ready to jump back in the dating pool.

Or maybe she's just coming back because competition is weak.

I have no motivation to promote Britney this week but I'm gonna finish off Paris' promo and probably quit after this week is over. It's a fun game but I can't play for too long, I get tired of it easily.

tbh I'd be here for a lower article limit. Like 10-15. Have more things like games and award shows. Maybe promote the game
