I hate the way it ended though. The twist was predicable as hell. Decent movie.
Yeah, that's what I meant by "it got boring at the end". There was nothing exciting left, not even a twist.
At least the first half of the movie, imo, is a 8/10. The murder scenes were great.
Just watched You're Next last night, and I was LIVING for it. It perfectly mixes satire and straight up horror, and the quasi-naturalistic dialogue & acting was ice and pretty refreshing. I cackled at parts like "**** me next to your dead mom", the way Kelly screamed at everything, Erin kicking the one killer in the groin, and her splashing the not-boiling water on
Felix
.
They did a pretty good job of making Erin badass, but still likeable. I found characters like Kelly & Aimee annoying, but I think that was intentional so I can't really complain about it. The only issue I had was that they pretty much killed everyone off before the half-way mark, but I guess it works out since the plot focused more on Erin vs. the others than the whole group trying to survive, so whatever.
Really great. Easily one of my favorite horror films ever. You just aren't supposed to take it 100% seriously; it's definitely a satire for a large part, though those moments come in at the most random, unexpected times, and it's just great.

No it does't it's a close second. The clever action and death scenes in You're Next >>>>>
Again I disagree. The terrorism feel is prominent in both, but in The Strangers the fear kind of carries through. The idea behind both is good because what happens in both films technically could happen in real life, which is what makes them scary, but when you find out the twist in You're Next the fear factor disappears, in my opinion.
How come I've found this thread only now. It feels like home with people who watch horror for their pleasure. How do you guys like my Top 10 movies ever??
I agree with 3 of the ones on your list.. Sinister, Evil Dead (providing its the remake) and The Uninvited... The Strangers deffo needs a place in everyones top 10

That PA was easily the best, and one of my favorite movies in general, that have been released recently. Even my brother who is considerably very picky about movies (and hates every PA) enjoyed it.
^ and its Andrew Jacobs. Him and Jorge Diaz are v.. ugh

The Strangers is definitely more disturbing and scary. You're Next wasn't too scary but the action, creative deaths, and Erin's badassery are what make me love it so much.
All this talk of The Strangers makes me wanna watch it again... lemme download.

I think that's the reason why I hated it so much because it was promoted/advertised as this horror/suspenseful movie when the actual movie was not. The trailer and marketing made it look kinda scary, I was dying to see it for MONTHS when me and my friends(2 who are into horror) we didnt really talk for a few minutes cuz we were like WTF :laugh Also I was thinking it'd be as good as the strangers(one of my faves) and was so excited because it was going to be similiar to it. I guess I just got the wrong idea but I really didnt like it and the kind of movie reminded me of Cabin in the woods(which I also hate) yes I know y'all love it but I like horror not really into comedy horror.
Oh god please tell me people are NOT comparing You're next to The strangers literally Strangers has so much more fear factors to it. You're Next has little to no jumping moments and is more a thriller/mystery than scary.
Don't get me wrong it was a decent movie but Red State was kinda like The Sacrament for me.... it too closely followed the story of Waco like The Sacrament did with Jonestown.

#4 Scream 4 - The second best one in the series. Amazing
#5 Sinister - Easily one of the best movies of all time.
#6 Evil Dead - Same as above(provided you mean the remake)
#7 GE - a bit overrated imo
#8 Haven't seen this
