"If I Were A Boy" is such a flop. Its sales on iTunes are mediocre while it's on heavy radio rotation. It just shows the power of payola.
It's a ballad and not even an uptempo/mid-tempo one like "Irreplaceable" or "Me, Myself, and I" so that hurts its chances quite a bit. It's an alright song, but kind of dull. I think she was trying to capture some of the magic that Fergie achieved with Toby Gad but IIWAB is no BGDC by ANY stretch of the imagination.

I think after she performs live like that powerful performance in Japan, everyone is going to buy that single.

Good point. IIWAB is very slow and is not first single material. In fact, if it were me, it would of just been an album track as well as SL(PAROI). I mean, they're doing well on radio, but that's only because Beyonce is such a big artist that this single of course is going to do well. And it's not a flop. It's far from a flop. It was #1 on iTunes for like four or five days and it's already top 20 on Mediabase. So, I think it's far from a flop. If it's a flop, then "So What" is only a minor hit.
If I were a boy didn't reach number 1 because of Single ladies. She killed her own opportunity to have another number 1 single.
"If I Were a Boy" was all by itself on iTunes, and "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)" and "If I Were a Boy" can have the same person listening to it and it would count for both of their AIs, so "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)" shouldn't of hurt "If I Were a Boy". "If I Were a Boy" just didn't get good enough first week sales to get that #1 position. Now if "Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)" would've been released to iTunes the same day as "If I Were a Boy", then I'd probably agree with you, as some people would have to choose.
Both songs got released on different types of Radio Station. RMB that!s
Yes, but apparently that doesn't matter to Top 40. LOL! They're playing both. If I Were a Boy is top 20 and Single Ladies is in the top 60! Although, in Urban, I don't see If I Were a Boy...... But shouldn't that mean SL's AI is stronger? Yes, but somehow, it's not. IIWAB's is! Again... STRANGE!

Haha, it is just the diff b/w IIWAB and SL on pop is much bigger than the other way round on Urban.

If there is no Single Ladies then IIWAB should have been setting fire on Urban right now
