I didn't realize until today that Jessie, Ariana, and Nicki are fighting over a guy in the song. I saw someone's interpretation yesterday that said that and I kind of rubbed it off, but looking over the lyrics earlier made me realize they are definitely fighting over the same guy:

It could! But I wouldn't say by too much.

Remember that the VMAs are right around the same time as Ariana's album release (the day before, right?) so the VMA effect will overshadow the My Everything effect.
