Mama's Song was the most divided song in this rate. It was one of the singles Carrie released that you either loved or you hated. It's very sweet that she chose the song dedicated to her mother over much better songs such as "What Can I Say" and "Someday When I Stop Loving You" as the final single for "Play On", ultimately sacrificing album sales. It's showcases her softer vocals and had potential to be much better if it weren't for the weak chorus. The song helped Carrie win the BMI Songwriter of the Year Award at the 2011 ceremony and earned Carrie two ACA Awards for Female Single and Female Music Video of the year and the 2011 ceremony.

Y'all are too critical on this song. It wasn't meant to be some deep lyrical duet with inspiring content. It's a fun song that was celebrating two female country queens, that there are a limit of, coming together for the first time in their career. It's a great song. It's catchy, fun and the music video is amazing. It's also Carrie's only single to chart in Slovakia so clearly it's a worldwide mega-country-superstar hit.

It got so many 1s - 3s at the beginning of the submission period that there was nothing to do to save it. It was going to be the first song eliminated if it weren't for the 9 I gave it.
