The Sims 2 is really good. The focus on gameplay is completely note worthy. EA should make an app that allows people to make sims and upload their sims to Tumblr and that's it. TS4 is just a rushed rehash of TS3 with EP like add ons (emotions, walk style, new world).

To be honest I think TS4 is a rehash of TS2 if anything. They've dropped some of TS3's main selling points (open world, CASt) and put more of an emphasis on the Sims themselves.

I'll never forget the hours of fun I had with TS2 and if TS4 is anything like it I'll be really happy.

This isn't untrue. Seems like an earlier version of TS2, a bit. Still a mess. TS2 was a huge leap from 1, and TS3 had something different and unique from TS2. TS4 needs something to change the game, otherwise I don't see the point. I can play the superior TS2 or I can play TS3 instead of playing this game

That is true but I still think the game is a big improvement on TS2/TS3 even without some revolutionary new feature. It's the small details that will really make this game stand out.

The only thing I'm kinda disappointed about is the lack of story progression, I liked knowing that the entire world was simulating alongside my Sims. I hope they add it in eventually or maybe someone can make a mod for it.

I honestly don't know what you guys expect to achieve with the endless bitching and complains in this thread.
It's not ideal, but TS4 looks great, and having no pools and toddlers won't make it a bad game at all. We're a month away from the release and it's time to either get on board or just ignore it and play TS2/3 'cause they're really not gonna change everything 'cause a few people are unhappy.

I actually don't mean to be rude, it's just really tiring coming here to see if there's any news or interesting stuff going on and seeing the same discussion that has been going on for months and gets nowhere.

Assuming it's from the origin thing just go to C:\Program Files or Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSBin
Right click Sims2EP9 and create a desktop shortcut then right click the shortcut on the desktop
click properties and where it says target after the quotations put a space then -W

I skipped through on the styles on that video and a lot of the hairstyles/face structures do look way better on the darker sims so that's a plus for people who like to create dark skin colored sims.

Are you sure you've created a 'shortcut' properly?

Go to the folder that you located the file at.
Hold 'Right mouse button' and drag the file to desktop.
Context menu will appear and then you click "Create Shortcut(s) here"
To make sure that it is indeed a "shortcut" you'll see a tiny curved arrow icon tacked onto the file's icon itself.

After that, right click and "properties" and it should allow you to edit the "target".
