I wish the Born This Way version we got was the 'free enterprise and self esteem' demo. That needs to leak in full, it slayed.
All of Gaga's music is better in demo form, I'm not even ashamed to say it. I love her album versions but she needs to work with a producer who is more sparing with their production*. That's why the Rick Rubin album sounds perfect, even though I know deep down it's another betrayal.
Having said that, one of the aspects that contribute to Born This Way being my favourite album of all time, is that it is loud and overbearing and overproduced. But it worked because it fit with the message. I feel like ARTPOP should have been more tame in some places and louder in others rather than over produced for the whole thing apart from DWUW and ARTPOP (the song), pretty much.
