You can't deny katy plays it REALLY safe and refuses to take any risks, both with her image and her music. Shes cute and all but i find it funny when people compare her to the likes of Gaga, Rihanna, Beyonce etc.

She does put out quality pop music (compared to most of her contemporaries), as suggested by her numerous accolades from respected organizations and award shows.

No artist with a good-standing career has lasted long with the same image. Good luck to her and her childish aesthetic! I mean, even Bayonse has attempted different things and it's gotten her a 15-year career.
