I don't expect everyone to understand or appreciate it (and I mean that with no condescension). That's the entire premise of the film, in my opinion.

The final 10 minutes were so beautiful, when she sees the ape and y'know, I was actually shaking in my seat.
Some of the images and concepts brought up in that movie are haunting.
