She's simply stating how females in magazines have their ass sticking out in G-Strings and even less daily yet no one in media says "trashy". Yet the minute Nicki does it, it's a huge scandal as though
A) Her ass has never been out before.
&
B) Other female's asses haven't been out before.
Society makes a big deal over body parts EVERYONE has. It's really not that serious. Being naked doesn't instantly mean sexual and even at that, what's wrong with sex? It's a natural thing. It's how we're all here, alive, in this thread right now.
People need to seriously cut the bs on **** shaming any and every female who has any power and chooses to be naked.
|
but are they pop stars out here promoting a single with that as the cover? next! who cares about some random nobody models on magazines in bikini bottoms?

And certain people need to stop with the "they're all white models" or "they're covered up"
1) They're all models from the SAME magazine shoot. Is it Nicki's fault Sports Illustrated has majority white models? That's the real race issue here.
&
2) An ass is an ass, half-way uncovered or not. Stop being daft.

But why does that matter?

If you have nothing knowledgable to respond with, don't respond to me at all.

what I don't understand is why people are so up in arms about an ASS... this isn't anything we haven't seen before, specifically from nicki. if I'm not mistaken she posted a photo of her in the same damn position in the same type of bottoms by her pool on IG and no one batted an eyelash. I don't get what the difference is now.
and even still, she is free to do whatever she wants to with her ass, kneecaps, elbows, earlobes, WHATEVER. if you're bothered by it, don't look at it. it's as simple as that. no one is forcing you to look at that big ol booty

But the media says "trashy" to those girls as well? She's not a special snowflake, all girls face misogyny. And as was mentioned, there is a difference between model and artist.

That's not true.
Also what Nicki is forgetting is ALL the references were for either Swimsuit ads or Sports Illustrated which has a tradition of scantily clad women.
It's not on a single cover.
It's not on something that will be consumed by many different types of people.
It's on something specifically geared towards that type of image.
Her points lately have been really weak. Like her hypocritical remarks at the BET. Authentic with the most obvious plastic surgery? Come on. And I do love Nicki.
At least if she wants to do something sexual, do it in an artistic way.

knowledgeable** kinda ironic
and i have. You just choose to ignore the big picture here, they're models in mostly regular bikini bottoms, she's a pop star promoting a single cover in a G STRING through all her social media outlets. Laters!

I don't think it's the ass itself but the way she's spreading her legs and the general tackiness of it which makes it seem so lowbrow.

You've missed the point if you think it's about race. I've already seen 3+ people comment on "white models" or "race" when neither was mentioned or implied by Nicki. Not even in her twitter favorites (where she usually let's the barb add extras) did she imply anything about race.

To be fair, yes, there are multiple double standards between men and women these days. But when has Trey Songz ever shown his ass on one of his covers? Never. Again, not a good comparison.

Was Bey's Partition video "Artistic"? Her stage performances when she's only clad in a thong??? What's the difference

You can equate a guy being shirtless with a girl showing her boobs/ass, in terms of sexualization.

Uh, they are about 1000x more artistic than Nicki's cover.
The lighting, the costume, the staging, the concept all are much more artistic. This is not even a question.
