Just because critic's opinions are more spotlighted (Rottentomatoes, Metacritic, Billboard, EW, etc.) don't mean they matter more. A movie, song or television show isn't going to be successful unless the public has a positive reaction.

Critics have more informed opinions. I don't necessarily always agree with them, but the fact of the matter is that by any objective measure Call Me Maybe (along with the rest of Carly her discography) is a far better song than Chandelier (and if you're really going to bring commercial success into this: the GP agrees!).

The first part is true, but still. But the GP is still in love with Chandelier, which is why a lot of her performances are getting praised and the song + video have been blowing up, and still are.

I haven't really liked any albums this year. I was really looking forward to 'Glorious' but was super let down and only liked the first two singles and like two more album tracks.
The only two real collections of songs that I've liked a lot so far this year were both EPs.

I was really looking forward to 'Glorious' but was super let down and only liked the first two singles and like two more album tracks.
