Charli XCX - Tokyo Lights Remixes
Charli XCX released a set of 8 remixes promoting her brand new single 'Tokyo Lights'. The single's remixes EP was released earlier today after a each remix premiered on a different website, Vogue.com, MTV.com, chartsinfrance.net and finally TMZ. All remixes (along with the instrumental featured on the EP) were premiered at the same time.
The first 'Tokyo Lights Remix was the Surkin Remix of the song, an up-beat remix from the start. The song transitions suddenly from a regular EDM beat to a Trap song with Charli's lyrics used occasionally.
The second remix used, was the Salem Remix, which is one of the remixes that premiered on Vogue.com. The remix is a slower mid-tempo version of the song with a more experimental sound than the Surkin remix.
The Club mix is the third track on the remixes EP and was remixed by Aeroplane, the Remix has already been used in multiple nightclubs in the UK right after the premier.
Track #4 on the EP is the Goldhouse remix which more acapella based and uses the Acapella of the song in a very interesting way.
The last remix on the EP is the Style of Eye Remix of the song which is a up-tempo dance mix of the song.
The Remixes EP is now available digitally and will soon be available physically.
Tracklist:
1. Tokyo Lights (Surkin Remix)
2. Tokyo Lights (Salem Remix)
3. Tokyo Lights (Club Mix)
4. Tokyo Lights (Goldhouse remix)
5. Tokyo Lights (Style of Eye Remix)
6. Tokyo Lights (Instrumental)

Britney Spears “Gimme Your Best”: New Happy Meal “Toy”
Parents were shocked to see that instead of receiving a small action figure in their kids “Happy Meal” boxes, they were given a physical CD of “Gimme Your Best”. The CD case is cheap quality but it gets the job done. Parents were surprised to see this as the weekly “toy” and also surprised to see that they’re actually paying for the song! The Happy Meals at McDonalds are now almost two dollars more expensive than they were last week, which must cover the cost for the CD case + “Gimme Your Best” CD. Parents and kids are now unwillingly buying a copy of Spears’ lead single when they get Happy Meals at McDonalds.
This new “deal” was covered by Fox News tonight as many were outraged, especially when they are not warned of the mandatory purchase when buying the Happy Meal. One parent was interviewed by Fox Five News at the sidewalk of a McDonalds in New York City:
“I just you know I can’t believe this.. you know the lyrics on that song are very explicit for kids, how are they giving this to my kid.. and making me buy it when I didn’t even want to? I already have a copy on iTunes now Britney gets another purchase from me? What do I need two copies for? I think it’s smart for Britney to do to you know get those sales but I can’t believe McDonalds is actually following through with this”.
Fox News also reported that the “Happy Meal Deal” is not exclusive to the United States, instead, the physical CD will also be given with Happy Meals around the world for the rest of the week. Another parent commented on the deal before Fox covered another story:
“You know I went to the apple store today down on Fifth Avenue because I had to buy a new laptop, my old one broke. So I go to the store and pick out a new macbook air, 13 inch, it’s very cool.. I go to the cash register and they offer me to buy a copy of “American Dream” it’s like the new Britney album out I guess and at first I wasn’t going to buy it but then they said I could get a 10% discount on the computer if I bought it so I got the album and it’s a good album, a lot of bops.. Anyway, my little boy wants a happy meal after a long day in the city, am just trying to make him happy, I walk down to the nearest McDonalds and get him a happy meal. It comes with a copy *holds copy to camera* of Britney’s song “Gimme Your Best”. I then check the receipt and I payed for the song on the receipt, I went back to the store and asked to speak to the manager, man says you can’t buy happy meal without paying for the cd now.. so if i wanna return it i have to return my kids happy meal. I wasn’t gonna return my kids happy meal I mean who does that? So now i have Britney’s album and song and i didn’t intend to buy either of these today.”
The Fox News hosts discussed this after the mini-segment with parents:
"Wow, Britney really is trying to get those sales"
"Yeah but I gotta hand it to her, very unique and smart idea.. so many people are buying these Happy Meals around the world and they're gonna come with her song the whole week, plus.. they're paying for it!"
"Don't you think it's kinda desperate though? It's just not even necessary when her album is already #1 and Gimme Your Best already went #1"
"I mean there's a million ways to look at it but I really just think it's Britney being a smart woman with a smart team, I mean she's getting those extra album copies through Apple Stores you know selling "American Dream" with a 10% discount on any purchase, and she's getting those extra single copies by stuffing her song in kids Happy Meals and making them pay for it! You can call it desperation or you can call it smart marketing, either way.. she's getting those sales."
The public has mixed emotions about this new Happy Meal but that didn't stop her fans from trending #BritneyMeal worldwide after all the buzz.

Zedd: Moment of Serenity World Tour – Night 1 (Six Flags America)

Zedd opened his worldwide Moment of Serenity Tour at Six Flags America in Mitchellville, Maryland (near Washington, D.C.), tonight. Due to the park lacking a venue suitable for the concert (every single one was either being used or was already configured in a unique way for something else), a temporary stage was set up for his concert in the grass field next to the park. As this leg will have varying stage specifications to conform to various venues, there isn’t a specified stage design (it also isn’t completed for the other legs yet). Besides, it probably is best not to have expensive stage equipment sitting outside, exposed to the elements. Anyway, the stage pretty much consists of the stage itself and an HD video screen, as well as the necessary equipment for the concert, such as lighting and speakers.
The concert started at approximately 6 pm, with a ticket price of $30. Due to the lack of actual seating, there was only one general admission ticket price. Zedd chose a random person from the audience to meet him. Due to the venue being held in a location outside the park and the venue being only temporary, security was able to allow more people in the venue area than originally planned. Twenty thousand-plus fans and lovers of the songs “Clarity” and “Temple” all flooded into the standing-room-only venue. Concertgoers have all declared the concert amazing, despite an official stage design.
The concept of the concert is that Zedd is a DJ working his way up in the world. He starts out with an introduction that explains the backstory of the concert. After the introduction, Zedd finds himself DJing at a house party. He does a couple of tracks for them and then he leaves. There is an interlude of Conduit prior to him arriving at his next gig: a rave. He plays the Gaga-inspired track “Slay,” and then Lady Gaga herself makes a surprise appearance to sing “Temple,” “Stache,” and “Aura.” Zedd then realizes he needs to break free of this monotone life of DJing. He runs off the stage, leaving in the middle of “Shave It Up.” He returns when the song finishes and begins to break free of his monotone life of being a small-time DJ to make his move into what he was longing for, the EDM industry as a whole. Of course, during part of this he plays “Break Free.” He ends up finding success and no longer has a single problem in his life.
During the concert, every song from Serenity was performed. The concert started out with “Beautiful Sky,” which transitioned smoothly into “G.U.Y.” The rest of the concert incorporated all of the songs of Serenity, some of Clarity, and two Zedd songs from ARTPOP. The concert included a surprise appearance by Lady Gaga to perform the hit single “Temple.” As the concert ended, the audience wanted an encore. He then played Clarity, and after the song ended, roaring applause came from the audience as people left to buy Serenity and “Temple” at booths and trucks set up around the venue by Six Flags. The concert was a roaring success, and Six Flags America has actually decided to build a concert venue at the park due to the success of this concert.

For me, it was easy. Just come up with a random number, and then multiply it by the ticket price (in this case, it just happened to be a single price). It would be more complicated for arena and stadium dates. I'm guessing you just come up with a realistic number for those.
Also, apologies to Tigerlily for borrowing your layout.

Is that concert a small or medium performance? Attendance-wise, it was about the same as an arena, but I think I implied that the stage was not anything special.

THE VOICE UK
Following their Glastonbury performance, the British public began to spark an interest in Danity Kane as their name started being mentioned on radios, they got played more often on radio and their sales began to climb. Despite having the main iTunes banner in the UK for the third, not many people in the UK paid too much mind to them. But as soon as Danity Kane arrived to the stage on The Voice UK, people were really impressed as they were surprised another girl group besides Little Mix, Neon Jungle and The Saturdays actually had talent. And on top of that, Danity Kane showed the British public that they were unique - and also that a trio could smash and deliver phenomenal performances as well. And they brought Céline Dion, one of the biggest artists in the UK of all-time to perform with them as well. Having #1 in the UK with "Ratchette", legendary Hyde Park concerts, and covering CAL UK Magazine - Céline really benefited the group as well as hyped her return later in September. Pre-performance, the four went backstage to chat up with the contestants and give them advice. Even after the performance, they still hung out backstage for a good hour and treated all the contestants for a fabulous dinner to give them further tips on nurturing their talents and just to take a break from a stressful results night. And the charts were also very nice to Danity Kane, as all three songs from the EP were lingering in the Top 100. "Lemonade" jumped from #29 to #8 on the chart, while "Rhythm of Love" debuted at #30 and "Rage" followed at #47. Despite "Rage" being the new single from the group, the British public still responded to the other two songs better. After all, “Lemonade” was the lead single and “Rhythm of Love” has that EuroDance-esque sound that works on UK radios and the market/general public in general. And in case you missed the performance - we have the highlights here!
The stage had one huge rotating circle platform which was elevated twenty feet from the stage as the electric guitar began to play and smoke started clearing up on the stage. As the circle, more of an oval, like a popsicle stick type of skinny, was rotating Shannon took a cute breath and began to sing her opening in “Rhythm of Love”. During the lyric, “I need you like, the air I breathe” all the girls extended their arms and lifted them up in the air from their hearts slowly like angels resurrecting. Spotlights were also bordering the spinning stick in different dark colors - purple, blue, red, magenta, indigo and gray with hints of white to look angelic. Different mystical/retro lights surrounded the stage too. Shannon’s voice sounded crystal clear, and Dawn then began to sing her pre-chorus as the stick began to descend. Right before the chorus hit Dawn shouted: “The Voice make some noise!” as the music stopped for the rotating object to make its full descend and allow the girls to get in position. “Take my hand, take a chance / Feel the, rhythm of love” they harmonized and sang, while jumping in a left-right-left-left, right-left-right-right form with lights circling all over the stage and audience. They sounded absolutely incredible and looked stunning. They all wore black and white, as the different colored lights hit and reflected on them perfectly, making a bold choice in clothing. After the chorus, Aubrey took the reigns and full-out got into the song, literally spazzing her body and flipping her weave after the line, “I’m tryna, tell ya / The moment, we together / It’s messin’ with, my sanity” as Dawn and Shannon popped low. They all strutted in front of the judges’ chairs, with each girl between a chair, forming a perfectly unique angle for the camera to showcase more of their amazing choreography. Dawn sang the pre-chorus again as a synthesizer was crescendo-ing and the girls spun around the chairs and did some unique choreography, interacting with the judges. Aubrey even asked Kylie Minogue if she could sip her tea, with Queen Kylie approving and Aubrey licking the cup and sipping it up. Suddenly, the synthesizer hit its potential and a beat drop occurred as the lights blacked out and the instrumental to “Lemonade” began to play with new little details here and there.
“Ladies and gentlemen, your ****ing Queen, the #RATCHETTEGIRL, the Self Defense Chanteusé, start melting the **** down to the Baddest Don Diva... the Queen of Ratchet-Pop… Céline Dion!” Aubrey screamed as a single yellow spotlight shown upon Céline and she came out onto the stage while the audience started melting down and the judges gave the performance an early standing ovation, as Queen got the crowd turnt. She came out, wearing some white leggings with gray splashes of paint on them in the design and a red crop top. She began to rap her verse as Danity Kane made their way back to the stage, where the four of them started going in on the breakdown of the choreography. Right after Céline’s rap, she faded into the back with Dawn and Shannon as Aubrey stepped up once again to sing her verse, sounding spectacular and fresh. Dawn then sang her verse, as the lights calmed down a bit and the audience began to clap to beat due to Shannon’s request, and Shannon came up to sing her pre-chorus. With every two beats the girls snapped and struck a pose, all being in a vertical line so it looked extremely intricate and very properly executed. The girls worked into the chorus swinging their arms and doing the original “Lemonade” routine as always, working the crowd and performing great. The girls looked fabulous, their vocals were fantastic and the staging/lighting just took the performance up another notch. They belted out the final lyric, “Lemonade, lemonade” as the music then turned into a guitar being strummed randomly while Danity Kane and Céline stepped out into the audience, spreading out as “Rage” began to play.
Dawn started off the song, with her vocals beaming through the song easily. She walked through the aisles, giving the audience members handshakes and more as she made motions and gestures of emotion while she was singing the song. Then Shannon was shown to the camera, as she showed off a more diva-esque and retro twist on her vocal, as the crowd “woo-ed” a little bit and Céline Dion then chimed in with her falsetto to create amazing ad-libs and harmonies with Shannon right before the chorus kicked in. The chorus beamed, as sparks were dripping from the ceiling everywhere and all four sang together in unison, sounding amazing and blending like luxury together. They then skipped to the bridge where Céline commanded, “Everybody clap like this!” as they all returned to the main stage as they swayed their arms in the air and sang “oh”s in harmonies while Céline sang the ad-libs instead of Dawn. “Yeah you can, scream it out” she roared at the top of her lungs with a falsetto, getting the crowd to roar with love and admiration for the four women. They bursted into the final chorus where they went full-out on stage, moving all over the place, spinning, jumping and clapping to the beat everywhere with the lights then circling around the studio again. They harmonized with the final “oh”s as they were working up half of a scale, all singing in different octaves and putting their fists in the air as smoke bursted into the air and the lights turned off into the regular studio lights they have on during the results shows. Everybody went electric, giving the four a standing ovation as Danity Kane pointed to Céline as she blew kisses into the crowd for everybody. The interviewer came up and asked about the EP and what’s next to come for Danity Kane. “We’ll be back here for our ‘DK3’ World Tour - details coming very soon and we can’t wait! Glastonbury and you guys tonight were just the absolute best,” Aubrey said. Then the interviewer turned to Céline and asked her what we can expect in the next few weeks. “Well, “Ratchette” is BACK,” she beamed, “and I’m making a little special announcement at the VMAs. Stay tuned for that - if y’all thought TONIGHT was worth melting down over… just wait,” she winked into the cameras. The interviewer then sent them off and said, “What a lovely combination. Danity Kane’s comeback EP ‘DK3’ is out now and you can get “Ratchette” too!"
