I have the utmost respect for every culture and every religion in this world. My great-grandmom was risking her life and hiding a jewish family during WWII for half of the year, we are still in contact with them. Its just shocking to me that a nation who went trough holocaust is able to do the same thing to other nation. Its hartbreaking.
And for your info, my avi is from a biopic about an artist I admire, Serge Gainsbourg. Its the artistic depiction of his self-doubt, of how he saw himself. I dont know whats idiotic or anti-semitic about that.

Then I am really really Sorry about that then, but you should understand why I was 99% sure it's connected to the subject. My friends families, part of my family died because of the holocaust, and that's exactly how the people in the WW2 saw the jews, it was on comics, books, games, movies and so on. I am really happy to hear about your grandmom though, she is probably an amazing person!
As for the "same thing" part, well, it's wrong. The Jewish people in WW2 times didn't attack the Germans in any way, especially not with rockets, they have actually wanted to fit in and be declared as Germans, but people didn't let them. The Hamas is the main reason for innocents to get hurt, and you must understand that. It's really tough now, and there are many citizens at both sides getting hurt, but please, don't compare the Holocaust to what's happening at Gaza. We are humanitarian, and we are acting against Hams, not the Arabs. There is hate from both sides, but the most are people like me, who don't hate Arabs at all, but can't stand from the side comparing their soldiers and families to the Nazis or to genocide creators, we aren't.
Edit: moreover, I would like you to send me more details if possible via PM, I am so proud of people like your great-grandmother, and again, sorry for not understanding your AVI right and about what I said, even though I am still sure and convinced you can't compare in any way the two events like you just did or support your side, I really appreciate you taking my comment seriously and your great answer

Gainsbourg's childhood was profoundly affected by the occupation of France by Nazi Germany. The identifying “yellow star” Jews were mandated to wear became a symbol which haunted Gainsbourg and which in later years he was able to transmute into creative inspiration. During the Nazi occupation of World War II, the Jewish Ginsburg family was able to make their way from Paris to Limoges, traveling under false papers. Limoges was an unoccupied city, but under the administration of the collaborationist Vichy government and still a perilous refuge for Jews.

Ron Dermer, Israel’s ambassador to the United States, said his country’s army should be given the Nobel Peace Prize for how it has fought in Gaza. “The truth is that the Israeli Defense Forces should be given the Nobel Peace Prize... a Nobel Peace Prize for fighting with unimaginable restraint.” Dermer was speaking at the Christians United for Israel Summit in Washington, D.C. Tuesday when he criticized the Hamas tactic of using its people as human shields. “I especially will not tolerate criticism of my country at a time when Israeli soldiers are dying so that innocent Palestinians can live,” he said. On Tuesday morning, Secretary of State John Kerry and U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will talk with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the hopes of brokering a ceasefire. The death toll has risen to more than 600 Palestinians killed and 29 Israelis dead. “There is literally no safe place for civilians,” a spokesman for the U.N. Office for Humanitarian Assistance said of the situation in Gaza.

I will send you a PM
About Palestine, no, its not same as holocaust. But there are similarities. Palestinians are now living in isolation behind a wall and borders controlled by Israel, without enough of water and electricity which sources are also controlled by Israel. They watch how Israel is taking more and more of the land that used to be theirs every year. Thats not freedom they live in. You have to understand that people always want to protect their freedom, their independence and their land. The reason why Hamas gets so much support is probably because people there are feeling oppressed and helpless and think that at least Hamas is fighting for them.
To fight Palestinians like this, when they are in a corner right now with nowhere to go is not right. They probably think that Israeli government wants to destroy them, and tbh it looks like that to me too. This will result only in more civilian deaths, leaving Palestinians in even more despair, with even more people wanting revenge for their loved ones they lost. In short, this will only result in even more extremism.
I think that one friendly gesture or compromis from Israel (and I dont mean only empty words and promises like it was untill now, I mean really to do something this time) to show Palestinians that Israel doesnt want to destroy them, has a much bigger chance to change something than shooting people.

France's Jews Flee As Rioters Burn Paris Shops, Attack Synagogue
This literally made me feel sick. This is absolutely inexcusable. Even if you think the Israeli government is 100% at fault for the conflict, taking it out on Jews as a whole is absolutely disgusting and flat-out anti-Semitic. A lot of the Jews affected by this are likely not even Zionists

Aw, it must suck to be targeted due to your ethnicity. It's a good thing the Israeli government isn't doing that.

It's sad what's happening in Europe with these massive flood of muslims, there are streets you can't even pass by because of Sharia Law being imposed, it's crazy.
The european countries need to do something regarding muslim illegal immigration (mainly from African countries), this will be a huge problem in the future, you'll see.
That being said, it's sad what's happening in Gaza but I stand by Israel, I've seen and know enough things about Islam (Arabia Saudi, ISIS, Iran, Boko Haram, Al-Shabab, Hamas, Hezbollah etc) that scares me, I do hope Israel and Palestine can co-exist in peace tho.
Sadly, Islam is becoming more radicalized by the second, it's becoming a threat for the liberal and western world.
My impression is that Palestinians were to take over the land of Israel, they will establish a theocratic, authoritarian, extreme conservative regime like that of Iran or Arabia Saudi, my experience tells me moderate Islam is a minority...

Oh don't even TRY to turn this one around. This would be like if the Israeli government was targeting all MUSLIMS. And if you genuinely believe that that's what the Israeli government is doing, you need to do some SERIOUS fact checking before posting in this thread again.

Wow It's sad that this is the only only thing you have to say about those disgusting actions. Apparently, no one cares if it's the innocent Jews who are being targeted for no reason.

No Where do you live tho? have you experienced what people are facing in some Spain, UK, France, Sweden neighbourhoods now "ruled" by these muslim gangs? it's a big problem.
I hope Israel and Gaza can co-exist in peace, it's such a shame this disgraceful, terrorist group Hamas is there spreading fanatism and hatred. sadly this will be an endless war because of polarization on both sides.

What the hell? All of the muslims that I know are LIBERALS. They're great people that do not fit with your canned, orientalist perception of the rug-selling muslim merchant. This post is a mess. You need to learn to separate religion from what's occurring in Gaza (it's hard, but try). The genocide that Israel is issuing on Palestinians has nothing to do with religion. Instead, it is about trying to eradicate the presence of a group that for centuries has lived in the land that is now the nation of Israel. Israel is a coward. They do not want peace, they want to dominate. This is no different than Imperialism in Africa, or the colonization of the Americas. In years, people will be saying, "wow that was horrible, if only someone would have stopped Israel."
Also, the Palestinians had lived in what is now Israel for CENTURIES. Tell me why conflict only arose once Israel was created? Do you think that it would be better for Palestinians to say, "Oh, okay! Come take our land from us!" No. They are fighting back, but the Western world is painting it out to seem like they are creating trouble because they are extremists or terrorists.

What are you even talking about? I'm pretty sure you don't live in these neighborhoods either and are just repeating what the Western media has spoon-fed to you. I'm sorry to tell you, but there are no neighborhoods that are being "ruled" by muslim extremists. To believe otherwise is just
And there will NEVER be peace when one side is trying to EXTERMINATE the existence of the other, and the oppressed are being painted as "fanatics."

Islam is not a race. But he's not totally wrong. There are a lot of neighborhoods which have majority of muslim population that run those areas. I don't have a problem with peaceful muslims who want to became part of the society into which they emigrated but people like that scare me (I really hope this is just some small minority) :
