Britney "Takes Over" Apple Stores Worldwide
(every apple store now displays Britney's face from the "American Dream" cover on their famous apple)
After teaming up with Apple last week for a promotional TV spot for iTunes/iPod Touch, Apple is once again promoting the pop princess' latest album and music. With a different approach, every Apple store around the world will now play "Gimme Your Best", the lead single off "American Dream", a minimum of four times every hour.
In addition to the song playing in the store, all the macs/iPhones/iPads/iPods/etc only contain music off of the "American Dream" album. The iTunes in every Apple store contains only 5 tracks: "Gimme Your Best", "Touchin' Me w/Rihanna" "Where'd The Good Times Go?" and "Body To Body" as well as the iTunes exclusive: "Rebellion". People can listen to these songs in the store for free as an "album sampler". Apple reps commented on this saying:
"The music is the best quality you can get and so if people wanna test out earphone or the speakers on a phone or iPod, the Britney songs help show that the quality of the sound on all our products is very good, it's also beneficial because people like Britney's music and whether they're hearing "Gimme Your Best" played in the store or listening to one of the album samplers on our apple products, they're gonna enjoy their stay in the apple store."
On top of the general promotion, each purchase made at the Apple store within the next two months comes with two options. Option A: You can purchase a physical copy of "American Dream" through the Apple store (copies presented at cash registers) and get a 10% discount off your total purchase. Option B: You can opt against purchasing the "American Dream" album physically; however, you will still receive a discount code to get the deluxe edition of the album for almost half price on iTunes with any purchase. Most shoppers will most likely opt for "Option A" as they will be told about the 10% discount benefit if they decide to purchase a physical copy of Britney's new album.
With Britney maintaining every iTunes banner worldwide since her album was released last week, it seems as though her promotional campaign with Apple just keeps getting bigger. The CEO of Apple commented that Britney's face would only be digitally featured on the famous apple logo at stores for the week, to "promote the new Britney/Apple partnership".
