ATRL is actually pretty great when it comes to topics about racism when compared to other pop forums. Half the thread is actually making sense, and the topic is still open. At PopJustice, the discussion would have been deleted within hours and there would be one poster vs. 15 others telling him that racism isn't a big deal, to stop being so sensitive, etc.
I think Batdance in its 6 minutes lacks a strong melody because it tries to do too many things at once and that he pulled off novelty/experimentalism better elsewhere.
I think the writing on Get Lucky is perfectly executed. Like exactly what I believe they set out to accomplish.
It's a song about partying and sex and the same things every other YOLOpop house song in the past 5 years has been about, but worded in a way (the phoenix line for example) that makes it sound a little bit deeper. A hipster friendly Pitbull track basically.
I kind of love Prince's Batman album. "The Future", "Electric Chair" "The Arms of Orion" is kinda the best Disney song that's not actually a Disney song ever too. "Batdance" is enjoyable for an experimental novelty track, and the unreleased "Dance with the Devil" is fantastic.

I think Pop Life is my least fave 80s single but it's like a 10/10 at worst.
