You & I is kind of the best song on Born This Way which is not surprising since she wrote it in 2010.
Rumor has it that Brooklyn Nights was also written before BTW and she just gave up on it twice before it leaking. I have faith in her songwriting abilities, Dope has her best lyrics as "Gaga" but they aren't smash or pop material.
Paparazzi is, probably, her best music video. This was the one that really made people try and copy the epic scope and it lasted for years until Gaga herself overdid it with MTN.
I hope she works with that director again. Know she loves being in control but she should let herself be a muse every now and then, she's really good at it.

I think her work with Jonas has always been uber-collaborative, so her working with him shouldn't be out of the question. Didn't she post photos of her with him before the ARTPOP Era begun?
He's been busy for most of the ARTPOP Era, though, and that could be why they haven't been able to work together.

Was going to say this as well Not sure what happened inbetween 2010 and 2011, but her songwriting (along with her own brand and image, but that's another story) has been a downward spiral since. You can tell that Brooklyn Nights was written 4 years ago because it's almost as if Gaga is incapable of writing from the heart anymore.

Come on, you know every lyric she writes comes from her heart, so don't start with that "she can't write from the heart" crap.
And I'm pretty sure Brooklyn Nights wasn't written four years ago. There's no way it would have even been considered for ARTPOP if it was written that long ago.
Nothing happened apart from she decided to stop singing about asinine subjects such as money and fame and more important subjects, or at least subjects important to her. Contrary to popular belief, good songwriting isn't dictated by how much a song sells. Her writing on BTW was amazing and her writing on ARTPOP for the most part is great as well. Songs like Gypsy and Dope have amazing lyrics, and the lyrics to MANiCURE recall Gaga of The Fame. Aura is as clever as anything she's written and Donatella is so hilariously camp and purposely dumb that it's hard not to appreciate it. GUY's lyrics recall the cleverness of TFM, while DWUW proves she can still create a catchy pop song with a meaningful message. Maybe if fans stopped focusing on things they don't like, they'd be able to appreciate the things that are actually good... but I know that's asking a lot. A songwriter's talent doesn't just disappear. It might change and evolve into something you don't personally like, but that doesn't make it bad, especially with someone like Gaga, whose ability to write an amazing pop hook and melody remains unmatched.
Can we just stop with this whole "let's discredit her talent because we don't like ARTPOP" crap? It's insulting.
My excitement for Cheek to Cheek literally has nothing to do with acclaim (though that does not hurt). My primary music until this past year was jazz and swing music so it is just all kinds of exciting for me.
So, people are trashing TFM now? For me It's her best album and my opinion has nothing to do with her image/success/slayage during that era. Bad Romance, Dance In The Dark, Alejandro, So Happy I could Die >>>>>>>>>>>
And let's be real, TF & TFM were innovative and fresh at the time they were released, BTW was innovative but not fresh. And ARTPOP, well.......

Get them 50M + 15M views babe.
Actually good for a flop song, right?
Very good. It means people actually want to take the time to see what a "film" and what her vision of her album is/was.
Love the G.U.Y. music video by the way but I think the next time she actually wants to make a music video film, she should go all out. Make a better Tropico, use the songs completely. Venus felt so thrown in tbh.

It is a great video, just could have been edited a little better + some scenes were not necessary. I wonder how many views it would have if she released the short version first.
People miss her, she just needs to be more "digestible", if you get what I mean. But you now, I really don't care anymore, if she is happy doing her art, I am fine with it. My only wish is that she doesn't move on from pop/dance.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!
Buy yeah, you're asking a lot. They won't get it, sadly. At least most of them.
