Because I like to be objective and see things without bias. It makes me feel like my contributions to ATRL are more mature.
And the fact of the matter is, Rih isn't a songwriter. Which is why I gave her a 1. And that's ok. As I've said many times before defending Rihanna, the world's best song writers aren't always going to be the modelesque, beautiful, young girls in their 20s, with voices of angels. Very often, they're like...chubby Swedish men in the mid-40s. And who are we to deny those chubby, 44 year old Swedish men the right to write hit pop songs?
People on this site overrate songwriting. The GP don't know/care who writes a song. Only people in the industry and obsessed ATRL stans do. Even Howard Stern thought Rihanna wrote 'Diamonds.' The GP are stupid. They just assume every artist writes their songs.
And I mean, what's the point bragging about the fact that your fave wrote her own songs if those songs didn't do well.
Rihanna has 13 #1s. How many of them did she write? None. Doesn't matter. They're still hers. She's still renowned for having a crazy amount of hits. I don't care who wrote them. They're hers now.
