Just listened to "This Is How We Do" for the first time. It's freaking awful.
I don't know why she would release that trash as the 5th single.

Some of these rappers try so hard to be 'businessmen' once they get up.
Some have the knowledge and experience somewhat, but some sign some contracts, get lucky, and sell a hot T-Shirt or Shoe then think they're Bill Gates.

Even Nelly pops up with a pop or country song every now and again.
Ludacris kinda faded, too. But it feels that he could always make a comeback with the right song. 50 Cent?

Luda still has the Fast & Furious franchise to lean back on. 50 don't really have much
I mean, if you can't get your single featuring Eminem and Adam Levine into the top 10 even after a performance slot on The Voice

But 50 Cent is paid and probably won't have to worry about living off the next check for the rest of his life. He is definitely a businessman. He reminds me of Gaga in that respect, too. Both made dumb decisions leading up to their downfalls, but they will remain covered for life.

There's nothing wrong with rappers wanting to be businessmen, but some are good at it (Sean Combs, Dr. Dre)
and some just got a lucky deal one time and, like you've said, think they're Bill Gates (50 Cent, Birdman ).

d; wait luh you Willy but Nicki was a perfect example.
She sold a lil cute amount with her Perfume, then tried to think that K-Mart Fashion Line was gonna do something legedary.
I remember dragging it so much. Everything was tacky. Ugh.

Never for a minute did I ever believe that 50 Cent was smart enough to actually make profitable business decisions. 50 got lucky with the Glacéau buyout, but here's the kicker: his net worth hasn't increased since the VitaminWater buyout in 2007. And yet, 50 Cent has the nerve to "write a book" about business. Hilarious.

At least his net worth hasn't dropped, though. That $140M net can have him comfortable to make his own decisions.

Those rappers act like that because they truly come from little to nothing, especially Birdman. Being worth $170 million now is a helluva lot more than what he was living off in the '80s. In that respect, I would act like a Bill Gates, too.

Speaking of Diddy, Last Train To Paris is so underrated. I feel like people steered clear from listening to it just because it's Diddy, but the album as a whole is a masterpiece.

Her perfume didn't sell a cute amount. It was an Elizabeth Arden best seller + the spin-offs also sold well during their respective periods.
Not to mention that Myx Moscato is selling over a million bottles a month and she CO-OWNS the brand with Mona Scott Young, and plans on selling it off in a year or so.
She's hella business-savvy. That's something no one can take away from her.

And Birdman would be worth +$400M but everything is spilt between him and his brother, so.

Nicki Minaj's image and Nicki Minaj's music is the definition of tacky.
What did you think her perfume and clothing line were going to look like, son?

Gosh, to think that people make so much money rapping is just. Rapping is so easy, and most rappers are talentless.

Birdman Net Worth in 2010 is reportedly $400 Million USD according to Forbes
|
I didn't know he was worth that much. I'm not a big follower of people's bank accounts. I just know that he is among one of the richest rappers out there. How does the $170M figure work?

They don't make money from just rapping, hence the business talk.

Cap10, Kimbra's new song. When you said it reminded you of another song, were you talking about "Physical"?
