As long as she writes her verses like she's been doing ever since her debut I'm fine with her not freestyling. Obviously it would be better if she did but it's not a big deal.

Not really. Most of the big rappers don't freestyle. And that's so 2000.

Freestyling is a dead art among mainstream rappers.

There are definitely some great ones in the underground, but "freestyling" to mainstream rappers is reciting an unreleased verse and hoping people like it. I'm sure most mainstream rappers would freestyle just like Nicki if they were honest. Let's be thankful that she is brave enough to be honest and not recite some unreleased verse only to put that track out months later.

I don't think it's better at all.
When you write your raps you can look for words who perfectly fit and make your raps more of quality.

It's just like when you go to a interview or something
Wont your answers be way better if you had time to write them down instead of making the answers up right on the spot?

The majority of mainstream rappers who spit "freestyles" on radio and such are either reading from their phone or reciting memorised lyrics. The true from of freestyling is something that is accepted and seen as a separate art form, It is not really expected of rappers. If any of you watch any battle rap, QOTR etc. you would know that they recite pre-written lyrics openly. I think some people get too caught up on the idea that good rappers should be able to freestyle, as it truly doesn't make them any better of a 'rapper' than someone who doesn't... It just allows them more room for versatility.

I agree, I love how Nicki references different things on her songs, which clearly needs research but coming up with the lyrics straight away would be a nice addition. Not required, just bonus.
