Devin was teased as a kid for speaking to proper by black kids for "not being black enough" so now he feels some type of way about black people.
I legit CANNOT see how one would side with Devin yet not see how to side with Frankie it makes no sense

There is no irony or hypocrisy. I 100% understand and sympathize with Frankie, I already said that. However, there is a difference between Frankie and Devin. Devin did not project his issues onto Jocasta, he opened up to her and he listened to her and he did not judge her. I remember his conversation with Jocasta when he said that when he first saw Jocasta with her big smile and her bright bow ties, he was so impressed by her ability to freely be who she is. He knew she wasn't like the other people who brought him down. He didn't prejudge her and ignore all the evidence that showed she's the opposite of his prejudgements.
MY issue is Frankie judging Jocasta without giving her a chance, ignoring the evidence indicating that Jocasta would never judge him the way he assumes she is. That is something Devin never did, and so they are not the same. When it comes to their issues that they've had in the past, I sympathize with Frankie as much as I do with Devin. But their treatments of Jocasta differ greatly, and I don't like Frankie's. Simple as that!
