Rihanna and Britney perform “Touchin’ Me” on BBC Children in Need
Today Rihanna and Britney continued their promo by performing their single “Touchin’ Me” on BBC’s Children In Need. It’s a charity for children that need help, it’s a very popular charity event that has over the years raised more than £600 million. It‘s one of the 3 charity events that happen over the year, it is broadcast by BBC, and it always gains huge viewers on both tv, and audience. It‘s overall a very popular event, and it‘s also a great spot for artists to promote their stuff.
Rihanna‘s and Britney‘s perfomance was received very well by audience, because it wasn‘t another pop performance. They acted mature, and showed their new side, caring, and sad. They absolutely were emotional wrecks when performed but still sounded amazing, even if there were a few cracks. People saw how real and talented they truly are.
The performance started with both Rihanna and Britney standing on stage, they were standing next to microphones, and were wearing long white dresses with crystals. They looked pure, and nice. Behind the girls there were people who played instruments, 5 violin players, drummer, a guitar, and piano player. Throughout the performance the clips of sick children were shown, that need help, Rihanna herself took a glimpse at the screen behind her, and she saw one kid, she started crying good thing it wasn’t her part of the song then. There was a man holding his little child, and crying, it was absolutely sad moment, and people in audience were seen crying. Britney’s face was shown fully close, and she was singing her song with such a passion in herself, tho her eyes were full of tears, she was still holding steady. There was a light behind girls, and it kept shining while they performed. Then a bunch of little kids wishes showed up on screen, there were lots of wishes, like to have a normal life, to play outside with friends and etc. Suddenly screen went black, and it showed the names of lost kids over the year, and their photos, it was incredible devastating and saddening. The performance ended with Rihanna and Britney hugging, a lot of kids then ran on stage, and wanted to hug both girls.
This performance was really well received by UK people, they loved how Rihanna and Britney changed the song just for this performance, how much they stripped it down, and they loved how real and emotional both girls were. You can watch the re-run of the show tomorrow.
