I just found the pictures that showed how much The Sims 3 changed graphic wise from it's early stages to the final one.

Before they tried to make it look realistic:


but they changed it to more cartoonish toward the end.



They changed it after the delay, but I wish they kept it more realistic.


EA is KING at letting us down. All the previews look AMAZING and then the actual game is like 'oh...'.
At least The Sims 4 kind of looks similar to the pictures. The grass looks worse but the water and sky look much better.

that was the Sims 2 they had to re-do everything if you look up Sims 2 beta videos you'll see how the game was originally supposed to be.

I had to uninstall all the Sims 3 games and start again, because it would take my computer 10 minutes to load my neighbourhood. I don't mind having small loading screens if it means there isn't two massive ones before you load the game, and then ones inside the game that take forever when you decide to edit a lot that wasn't your Sims house. I used to dread editing the town due to the amount of loading screens that occurred. If these are the only loading screens, I'll be happy.

But if the loading screens are like the Sims 3 + these then I'm not playing lmao. I HATE loading screens with a passion. It's why my fave game is Ape Escape.

That was The Sims 2. This is how the Sims 2 looked before they started again:

Then the beta that leaked (with glitches)



and then of course you know how the final version looked.
I'm kind of glad they had a fire tbh. The first version looked terrible and they remade all the graphics much nicer.

I love how active the world is. It was such a pain in TS3 finding a partner for your Sim because community lots only ever had like two people

I think that's why I don't mind the worlds being smaller. Because they are actual worlds now.
In The Sims 3 you were lucky to have more than 5 sims on a lot at once.

And in The Sims 3 they just mostly stood around and talked. They wouldn't actually have events going before you got their (like the family bbq or kids playing on the playground) and interact with the objects.
Like when i would go to the bistro, most sims would just stand around the tables or sit at the tables with their laptops

I presume the buttons in the bottom right corner are for stuff like the calendar/jobs/needs etc.

One thing I noticed though is that through the entire video they didn't need to treat their needs at all, they didn't even need to shower after working out. I really hope this means needs decline slower because my Sims never had time to do anything but eat, sleep, shower and pee.

1st up - there is a full world map, it simply wasn't in our E3 build. When traveling you choose a lot from the map, not from that list.

Party goals are optional. When you set up the party you select if you want goals to accomplish or just have fun doing whatever you want.
