To be fair though, I live in Sydney and it's like $9 - $12 for a drink, on top of $30 to $50 entry fees, and most of my friends will share a bag of coke ( ) between 2 people which is $300, or $150 each, so it's understandable for people to predrink here.

$30 to $50 entry fees? in my town it's literally £4 for a wristband that lets you into 6 different clubs between 10pm and 4am!

For big/really nice clubs on Saturday nights, yeah. There's a lot of cheap/crap/tacky ones that are always free though.

Time to ditch those friends quite a lot of the big clubs here don't have a cover charge but the drink prices are ridiculous. $15-30

I think that studio vocals are more important than live vocals.


Don't get me wrong, how an artist sounds live is still incredibly important. But I often see Monsters and Hive dragging Katy for a bad-live vocal performance. But that doesn't change the fact that her voice in her studio recordings is pop perfection. And that's all the GP really cares about. We might sit here on ATRL fighting over who's a better live vocalist, but at the end of the day, all the GP really cares about is how that song sounds when they're listening to it in their car or on their iPod. To them, live vocals only exist for 2 hours at that artist's concert if they choose to go. When Katy nails a take in the recording studio, and it's perfected by her producers, it's perfect for pop. While Gaga, who will probably get it right on the first take, and won't need much tweaking, will always sound too jazzy.

Yeah, I agree. I could never be at a Katy concert, but her albums are pretty good pop records.

I think being an album artist is overrated by ATRL and it's actually more important to maintain your success as a singles artist. The GP only remember singles and iconic songs. Not the album tracks that never see the light of day.
