Ok, Well it's settled
Since no ATRLers have provided any solid contenders other than Madonna and her iconic burning crosses in "Like A Prayer" we shall move on from this dicussion
Single Ladies is ATRL's second most iconic music video of all time

Ya'll stay doing the most on Beyonce. It's one thing to not agree with the OP (I'm not sure I do either), but responding with all the smilies, as if this is "XO" we're talking about. Single Ladies regularly places among the most iconic / best / most memorable videos of all time in lists and countdowns, started the first internet dance craze, was parodied and referenced countless times by both celebs and regular people (often the entire 3 minute routine WITH the costume and hair from the video, rather than 5 seconds of one easy to replicate dance move a la "Gangnam Style"), was the second most viewed video on the internet at one point (before most of them were taken down for Vevo) and will be immortalized as such, while other videos may come along with better production or more elaborate concepts, SL iconic status is undeniable. But this is ATRL, so...

Child, you have less than a third of the people in this thread on your side We've posted tons of videos bigger than "Single Ladies." Let it go.

2. Single Ladies wasn't 100% original as wasn't Thriller. but at least it wasn't inspired by another prominent MV.
3. We're not discussing the most influential artist of this generation... the TIME, FORBES, among dozens of prestigious sources have already co-signed.
1. Neither of those are from "Thriller." Zombies/"creepy" dance moves had entered popular culture and television decades before "Thriller." Ever hear of "The Monster Mash," which came out two decades before "Thriller," or the likes? Can you give me something more concrete that "Bad Romance" "copied?"
2. Sis, "Single Ladies" is heavily inspired by Bob Fosse's "Mexican Breakfast," which had a resurgence the year prior thanks to dubbing it over with "Walk It Out." The original video got deleted, but here's a sped-up version:
Here's Beyonce even mentioning that she literally hopped on an Internet trend from the year prior (and you can clearly see from that video that she recycled a large percentage of the moves from "Mexican Breakfast):"
Again, I ask; how is "Bad Romance" plagiarized yet "Single Ladies" some beacon of creative genius?
3. Sis, Jesus Christ himself could call Beyonce the most influential artist of all-time, but until the receipts are in her favor and music starts following any trends she's set, she's far from that title

1. Bad Romance behind called the new Thriller by medias speak loud on the originality. NEXT.
2. ,nobody would have known The Mexican Breakfast if it wasn't for single ladies so no she didn't inspire herself from a prominent work. you tried again. and by the way I knew all of this before. next.
3. except nobody cares for a few haters opinion. Beyoncé is on the most prestigious magazine covers all around the world and her music still sell compared to a lot of her peers from 90s/00s.
the proof that she's influential is that she doesn't need to jump on trend to sell as much as trendy singers. and don't act like beyonce didn't influence your own faves and the young girls around the globe. The new artists cite her. most girl groups you see today a DC copies.
the K Pop artists are the biggest proof of the I Am Sasha Fierce era impact. don't act like people didn't follow the trendsetter surprise release... and even ADELE is about to drop her album the same way
Half of the posters, if not more, in this thread are completely delusional. Nothing has nor will ever top Thriller. It started what we know as the modern music video and it will never be topped or matched. Thriller is what you can call iconic, versus any of the other options posted in this thread. /endthread
I like Gaga and BR, but not you thinking that the GP remembers BR over SL.
Single Ladies was and still is a cultural phenomenon, Bad Romance could never despite being a good video at the time.
Telephone was def an event. Gangnam Style was a fad who will be burried in a few months. But Single ladies will live as long as women will have to deal with proposals.
Yes, what else could be 2nd to Thriller if not SL. Its the most copied dance craze since Thriller. Who is thinking about Bad Romance, I have never seen anyone reenact that video. SL had more impact than gangnam style, women are still saying put a ring on it, in reference to getting married.
