But overall I'm content with RDC as it's already exceeded my expectations.
I just really want Demi to make some legitimate mature music for her next album. Songs like RDC won't cut it for me anymore.

This is exactly why I was so disappointed with Demi (the album). I thought Unbroken showed that she was maturing, then Demi just threw all my expectations down the drain.
P/s: She may have grown up, but her music is still acting with Barney and Friends.

It has come to my attention that many members in the base are confused of what’s currently happening to Demi Lovato’s 4th single off the album Demi (#BuyDemiOnItunesNow), Really Don’t Care. As I’ve observed over the past month of my banning, I felt like it was necessary to properly and respectfully put ya’ll in check. First things first I’m the realest (Sorry I had to say that #BuyFancyOniTunes). Second, Demi’s team has done absolutely EVERYTHING they can at the moment. From 69 cent deals with iTunes AND Amazon, countless morning and night talk shows that get excellent views (but I still see the excuse of “NO ONE’S AWAKE”) and I continue to see members on & off this thread begging for even more promotion after she went on a radio promotion in NYC last month. Do we also need to mention American Idol and the other promotional deals? The music video has support of the LGBT community, another promotional deal and has a decent feature artist that is known. However, I still see ya’ll complaining that “HWR IS DUMB!!! HER MANAGEMENT DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO DO ANYTHING!!!” Even recently saw “SHE NEEDS TO BE ON ANOTHER AWARD SHOW OMG HWR!!!” The next major Award show is The Video Music Awards. Unless her team can convince MTV she can pull viewers, it is NOT happening imo. (However I do think she’ll be nominated for Best Video with a Message – however MTV LOVES Beyonce…and well Pretty Hurts :/ ) Teen Choice Awards should be a given, since she performed last year and hosted the year before (But it seems like she’s trying to reach a broader audience, so her/team might say no). So please Lovatics, LET’S NOT. There’s only so much a label can push before they leave the single to radio + fan support. I’ve only heard Really Don’t Care on my radio twice (it was late at night too). Maybe it’s just where I live because they haven’t added/played any new music since May at the earliest. (Yes, my radio still plays All of Me, Talk Dirty, Can’t Hold Us, Happy and Dark Horse the most). Even comparing most of the popular songs and Demi’s song…there’s a lack of maturity that doesn’t fit with everyone. I’m not going to lie. I BOPPED to Neon Lights with friends in the car. But I get embarrassed when I play Really Don’t Care. Unless something magically happens soon… it’s safe to say this single is going to struggle digitally, maybe even worse than Neon Lights due to the lack of maturity in the sound of the music compared to today’s shift of mature (as in songs that aren’t just fun bops but actual as lyric content – see some of the listed songs above), urban/r&b and saxophone tones. It would have done excellent as a 2nd single but now in 2014? Not sure. I hope you understand why I wrote this. I’m not attacking anyone and I just wanted to post my views on the past, present and future meltdowns of the single. So enjoy the music and support Demi as much as you can. (It’s time to move on to the tour thread soon). Besides, her tour begins early September. You KNOW there are at least 1-2 more promo spots for the tour alone. Good day, God Bless.

I kinda agree. I think HWR handled RDC pretty well, starting with the date they send it to radio. I just hate the music video, it ruined the momentum for me. doesn't have anything to do with the lyrics, and it's not what the target of the song needed. I only disagree with this doing worse than neon lights digitally, cause it's not. I remember neon lights having more than 70 M on radio and being out of top 50 on itunes. RDC has almost 500K in sales already. I still think is doing pretty well for a 4th single from demi lovato, but I guess people created high expectations

US Radio is inherently biased towards R&B/Urban as the audiences of stations that cater to that market are far more reluctant to listen to pop than the other way around. It ain't new, Demi even experimented with catering her music towards that demographic with parts of Unbroken and would have probably continued going down that route if GYHAB hadn't smashed.

It's not hate imo... bubblegum songs like RDC keep people away from her due to the lack of maturity and If we want Demi to go far in the industry and be more respected she definitely shouldn't make that kind of music... yeah, it's an easier way to get a hit but don't expect to be respected.
I wonder if she really thinks she could get a grammy with something like RDC

DEMI is now tied with Don't Forget as Demi's longest charting album on the Billboard 200 with 45 weeks.
Unbroken is at 42 weeks and HWGA is at 24 weeks.
None of Demi's singles since HA have been able to get past 36. Come on RDC!!

It's funny how everyone here was admiring the single especially when it started shaping up to be a solid hit, and now we're complaining about HWR, the song, Demi's work, the promotion and even the genre now that it's pulling a Neon Lights commercially
DEMI was a mature album and critics favored it; RDC/STWN/MITUSA are like 3 out of 13? Plus, there's only much an artist can do with the kind of producers who worked on DEMI, Mitch Allan pulled his best on Heart Attack and Two Pieces, so did Yacoub/Falk on RDC which was admired by a lot of people upon release and will eventually scan platinum and SCB which you guys praised and labeled it mature before.
I think we can all agree that Ryan Tedder could have done a better job, and the same goes for Jason Evigan and Jonas Jeberg, but overall, you guys had high expectations for the album last year and praised Demi's work to high heavens, maybe we're not used to Demi milking an album this far and got tired of the era but overall, imo, this is her most mature era and her best work to date, quality-wise and commercial-wise.

Of course. Why didn't I think of that. Putting one finger in the air is much more mature than Rising as tall as a skyscraper.
Plus, we Really Don't Care if it's her 'most mature' work to date, we just need it to be more mature. This album is soooo very much a Disney album where the audience are either kids or teens. I love RDC, I just don't like the direction she went with DEMI.

When you hear a song like Every Time You Lie or Heart By Heart and then go listen to RDC you can notice how her voice doesn't belong in that genre at all. Leave the bubblegum pop to artists with no sense of artistry whatsoever

How can Demi was a mature album and critics favored it when it has only 6 reviews on metacritc and most of them complain about her making predictable teen pop stuff for fun?
You can satisfied with how radio treated her lately, but Unbroken is her best era commercialy

Because putting one finger in the air is the only topic that DEMI discusses, I wish there were tracks on DEMI like Two Pieces, Warrior, In Case, Shouldn't Come Back, Without The Love, etc...
Cut it, even the most successful stars out there have fun tracks that aren't meant to serve a strong message. But no Demi must deliver an album with 15 Skycrapers she isn't allowed to express herself and her art because her fans are expecting her to be a "serious artist"
Demi's proud of this record and she stated it was her most personal multiple times, without Really Don't Care, the album wouldn't be rising at all after a year of release and scan 1M copies ww, nor would there be a fourth single that carries the era on, especially with a second upcoming world tour, let's be thankful for once.

Of course Unbroken is her best era commercially, because a 2x platinum single, a 1x platinum single and ~650k selling album >>>>> a multi-platinum single which is her most global to date, 2 platinum singles and 800K selling album that is still pushing copies after a year, how didn't this cross my mind?

DEMI wasn't mature but it's not nearly as immature as some of you make it out to be
Only a few tracks are immature and she has some of her most mature work on there.
I think some of you mistake generic for immature. Mature music =/= ballads, slow songs only.

I'm agreeing with everything heckinglovato is posting haha. I personally like the album DEMI a lot <3. and I think this was a decent era, I mean, we had like 6 music videos in one year. I like DEMI because is an album that fits a lot of different situations. there are times I want to listen catchy songs like heart attack, NL, RDC, STWR, and there are other moments I want to hear more mature meaningful songs, then I listen two pieces, warrior...so yeah I'm happy
