Sis, Ellen came out in the nineties when she was an adult. Sure, it could have ruined her career, but it didn't and she ended up making millions. She's been rich for decades, is a lesbian, which is more accepted than being a gay man, and is white. She's had it pretty easy and hasn't had to struggle for the most part.
I'd prefer someone like Laverne Cox or Janet Mock, two trans women of color who have truly had to endure discrimination of all kinds, from racism, sexism, and transphobia.
They're the true queens.
This is off-topic, though, so lemme say IA about Gaga not being the representative figure, just not that Ellen should be instead.
