The little monsters killed Gaga. She became too connected and invested in them and her whole career became about catering to them to the extreme.
Basically. An artist who does everything for their fans loses casual listeners who feel like their time on her is wasted because she only cares for the extreme fans.
I preferred Gaga when she was proud of doing pop music with her whole "pop music will never be low brow" thing back in 2008/2009 while making next-level pop. It seems like now she's somehow ashamed of making pop music now, she's desperately reaching for credibility from other genres now (Tony Bennett, Rolling Stones, R. Kelly)
