Russia's UN envoy has denied any involvement, AFP reports.
"We didn't do it," Russian Ambassador Vitaly Churkin told reporters at UN headquarters in New York.
Russian news outlet RIA Novosti reported that President Vladimir Putin has spoken with US President Barack Obama, but the US has not confirmed any such conversation.
