I'm not really surprised but I expected them to give here one irrelevant nom just to keep the good terms between Gaga and MTV. Let's not talk about how G.U.Y. and Applause actually deserved a spot over some of those cause we know how those nominations work.


Other than Gaga, even the other nominees makes little to no sense. What a mess!

Screaming at every major pop girl minus Bey getting snubbed, though. Katy and Miley being pushed into the less important categories. People gotta make up their mind about Gaga, though. People say she's a flop and then act like they expected her to get 230219 nominations. I'm not surprised, especially after seeing those random-ass nominations.

I'm sure had Gaga made plans to attend, they would have done a little something for her like they did with Born This Way when they created the Message category, but she won't even be there so no harm, no foul.

Random but a part of me kinda wants Gaga to become a full on niche act with the same touring presence and popularity (like a more popular Bjork) if it means she has 100% say as an artist. Of course, I'd also have no problem with her staying as a pop star but she really does need to work out a compromise with her management and label and relearn to work with the flow a little bit.

I'm happy either way, just don't think the middle of the line thing is going to work out for her. It's just going to make her more frustrated and upset.

at bitter bandwagon stans pulling up the "Gaga needs professional directors" card as to why she didn't get nominated. Katy, Miley, Rihanna, Nicki, etc. all had professional directors and still got snubbed for the most part. The VMAs are about popular videos, not "good videos" with a few exceptions to save face.

It's weird how these shows seem to work. They have no problem snubbing big popstars who will bring in ratings for unknown/lesser known acts just so they can pretend to have some sort of ~credibility~.
