I know exactly what you're doing and it's not going to work It's not an issue of "doing it by yourself", it's an issue of at what stage things are being done. Having a finalized song and adding a couple of things =/= creating something from scratch with other people.

There's also interviews of Ne-Yo saying he was afraid to leave the studio because then Beyonce would finish the songs by herself.

GreasyBruce is doing the most Songwriting is more than the essence of actually writing songs but it also involves the process of creating melodies and tunes. It's more arbitrary than skill specific, and it's got a wider scope of jurisdiction rather than it's literal definition.

If the producers claimed that she changed the song by herself why are they credited as writers too? I mean the changes made to the song were very small why would she need other 2 people?

Are you guys that naive to think Beyonce just gives them writing credits because she's a good person? They won't speak negatively about her, it would make them look bad and it would be even harder for them to get job. Its not such a hard concept to grasp.

On the things she's not able to work from the scratch, she'll do what she can and receive last or second to last credit and that's where the legal applies.... on the things she does write as a creation of art....uhh...I already wrote this out too...

She edits some song demos she likes to her liking and she receives the amount of credit she deserves (i.e. not usually first billing). Some songs she creates as a labor of love from the bottom up and she gets even more credit for that. I don't know why we can't leave it at that.

2) Ad Libs and Changing melodies is a part of "songwriting". Just coming up with lyrics doesn't mean you're a song writer. The putting together of the written composition of a song is song writing too. So what Bey does on certain songs is song writing. Huh? All through this thread are comments on how "Beyonce didn't write them all by herself and had 5 or 6 writers and is taking credit when she didn't come up with the ideas etc". Are you kidding me? The comments are right here in this thread.

And the song clearly isn't finalized if things are ripped out, replaced and changed significantly. The writers may have HOPED it was.

Ne-Yo was addressing the songwriting situation as it pertained to "Irreplaceable". Now what other songs they may or may not have worked on together is not the focus and clearly either those unnamed songs didn't make the cut or didn't go number 1 with her trumpeting it as solely her accomplishment so it's irrelevant.

They are credited as writers because they wrote the song with Ne-Yo BEFORE Beyonce.

“We focused on the sound when we did it, and when we wrote it with Ne-Yo it was done first with a male vocal, and we thought, ‘This is more of a female vocal part,’ ” Hermansen said. “We liked it and so did Ne-Yo, but he said, ‘Who will cut this?’"
