Yes, it is fun to get up and dance to catchy tunes and just have a great time, but the music world is just so emotionally absent it makes me cringe. I just don't know how people can enjoy an artist who can't even pour emotions into a song/album and be authentic about it.
For example, Iggy Azalea. I support her as an artist because she is Australian and a white female rapper in the music business but what she raps about is utter f**king garbage. Same thing goes for Ariana Grande, no connectivity to music because the appeal of being a 'pop star' is what attracts people like these to the business. Singing is one thing, but to actually pour your soul into a record, produce and atleast TRY is another thing.
I agree with Linda 100%. I don't know how cheap artists who create 15-minute-of-fame songs can live with themselves. I wish we can go back to the time where radio was dominated by artists like Alanis Morrisette and rappers like Tupac, where their albums reflected their personal problems with themselves and the world.
But like I said before, dance songs are great but if thats all an artist is there for, I just can't connect with them.
