Taylor Swift is cool, because she's the closest thing today that hearkens to Michael Jackson—to great, great pop music. There's a difference between her and Gaga and Katy Perry and Lily Allen and all that. It all feels throwaway, comparatively.

The closest thing to MJ from our current pop girls are Beyonce and Lady Gaga. Especially the latter. It's not just about quality. It's about talent, it's about PASSION (most importantly) and connection with their fans. And they are still pretty far from MJ, just the closest we've got. But Taylor.. she is cute, but She is country, she can't move to save her life, she doesn't have that connection with people, and her music is mostly for teens. Let alone she is not half as global as MJ.
But I'm sure he needs all of the promo he can get considering WAY needed a Super Bowl commercial to take off. Let's see how his album/single does.

Taylor "doesn't connect" to people, which is why Her lowest selling album in the States still sold more than Gaga's best-selling album, and 1.7 million people went to Her sold out tour for Red. I fail to understand your logic.
