Exactly. People need to let go of this "um lol wasn't PRISM meant to be a dark era" thing. The whole concept of PRISM is that she "let the light in" and it dispersed into a rainbow of positivity - like a Prism.
Besides, if she did do a "dark era" and was writhing around in a puddle of black goo with 12-inch, black, latex stilettos with guns for heels, everyone would be like "omg she's copying Gaga. She's trying to be Gaga."
Katy knows who she is as an artist. Who she is is bright, colourful and conceptual. Why change who she is as an artist when what she's doing is working so well for her? She tied Michael Jackson's record. If it aint broke, don't fix it.
