"Myths" Goes Up For Pre Order On iTunes, Special Promotion Announced
Marina & The Diamonds' long-awaited third album, "Myths", is now available on iTunes for pre order. The album's tracklist has been revised since Marina's last announcement concerning the tracklist, so the listing on iTunes only shows "Where The Diamonds Grow" and "Happy Meal". The rest of the tracks are titled "Track 1", "Track 2", Track 3", etc. Another notable feature of the preorder is a notice at the top of the album's page which states that pre ordering the album will enable daily upcoming releases to exclusively downloaded. The album releases on the 19th, which means 5 more songs of the 16 song album will be made available daily. It's important to note these releases aren't official singles, but a way for Marina to release her music to her fans as soon as possible and to create buzz around her already buzz-worthy album. Another important thing to note is that the album's cover art has not been made available yet, the placeholder being a black background with "Myths" written in the center.

KTU
After an uneventful week, Danity Kane waltzed into 103.5 KTU studios in New York. Having delayed their highly-anticipated EP to July 20th, many were very interested to see what the girls’ reasoning was this time. Their lead single “Lemonade” is close to scanning Gold, still managing to have sold 73.000 copies last week with only one TV performance, having the lifeline of a 99¢ discount. In addition to their interview, they also performed an a cappella version of “Lemonade” on the air, using each other’s voices as instruments during the chorus. The a cappella performance was broadcasted on the air, and the girls were highly praised for their vocals. But here was the interview.
Host: Danity Kane ladies and gentlemen!
Danity Kane: Good morning!
Host: Haven’t you girls been under the radar lately?
Danity Kane: Yes.
Host: What happened?
Shannon: Well, we were promoting “Lemonade” and we were going to release our EP but I had to go to Arizona on Monday for the rest of the week. Unfortunately my mother wasn’t feeling too good, and I really wanted to be there with her in case she ran out of time.
Host: Is she alright?
Shannon: Yes. Luckily, she was able to recover and we kept her in the Intensive Care Unit for a little bit. She just got out of the hospital this morning, so we’re just very stunned and very thankful that she’s got more time.
Host: That’s fantastic news, we wish her the best!
Shannon: Thank you so much.
Host: So what’s up with you girls now? I believe we were supposed to get the EP today, correct?
Dawn: Well July 13th was actually the original release that we had planned last month. But when we were talking with our competitor labels here and there, we decided to push the date up one week to July 6th. That didn’t work out, so we put it back for July 13th, but we decided we wanted to be on a second single when we released the EP, but we still needed to wrap up “Lemonade” promotion. So then, we pushed it up one week further to the 20th. And then minutes later we hear that Christina Aguilera, Charli XCX and Kylie Minogue were releasing albums today.
Aubrey: Yeah we were just like “OMG. THANK THE LORD!”.
Host: Are you afraid of competition?
Aubrey: No. We don’t mind debuting at #2 or #3, as long as we sell a good 400.000 copies and keep it moving with the longevity then it’s all good. But we just needed to take a step back and regroup with the label because they were mishandling us. I mean, releasing our EP last week or this week is a lot more ideal, but they don’t have our promotion lined up properly for an Album-esque release yet. And trust me, we were getting a little bit frustrated with them. But we’ve got our **** together.
Host: And what do you think of all these albums out today?
Shannon: We’re definitely rooting for Britney and Kylie. I mean they’re albums are some of the best of the year, it’s freaking ridiculous.
Host: And you’re sure that you’re not scared?
Shannon: Of course not!
Dawn: I mean, we didn’t even know like half of them were releasing when we made our announcement.
Aubrey: And we don’t have to do some controversial **** to get our **** to the Top Three. People can say what they want, yeah we have a #8 peak right now, but we didn’t have to put out some sex tape or really just degrade ourselves to sell some quick singles left and right, you know?
Host: Oh, is this a rant?
Aubrey: Well, it’s about to be. I mean, things happen left and right, and you’ll release material where maybe it’ll get some recognition from certain places and draw some controversy. But that’s not selling yourself out. There’s a big difference. I mean, before Azealia’s albums were released, she was ****ing it up on Twitter 24/7. Okay, that’s just her personality. Céline Dion likes to get a little wild, and she had to self-defense. Okay, what’s the big deal? Taylor Swift is just trying to find true love. Okay, I don’t see a problem there. Britney and Rihanna - I mean, their song IS about sex AND they’re known for being controversial. No surprise there! But when you see almost EVERYBODY trying to pull these stunts and expect to gain some respect. It’s just pathetic.
Dawn: I agree, I mean you have artists who use their name and their art to do something great with their talents. Like for example, Aubrey did something with the NYPD and NJPD recently, which is still underway. And that’s why she takes sex tapes to heart. I mean, you’ll see next week hopefully when the investigation wraps up. But you’ve got all these artists who get caught up in the word of mouth like Taylor and Miley and Avril - but they constantly do things to try to benefit society. So yeah, I think we should move on.
Host: Wow. Looks like Aubrey STILL has something to say, she’ll never change!
Aubrey: Hey, that’s just me.
Host: So what can expect this week? An epic return, a music video, an anything?
Shannon: Haha.
Dawn: Yes, our video drops tomorrow night on MTV and it’s just fantastic. Later today we’re also performing in Argentina for their World Cup parties and such, we’re rooting for them lots!
Host: Who was originally your favorite team?
Aubrey: Definitely France. Have you SEEN them? ****.
Dawn: Brazil.
Shannon: I’m a USA baby, I like being patriotic so them.
Host: Sucks to have all of them out! Well we’ll be looking forward to that. Anything else?
Aubrey: Yeah, just more TV performances and an extra-extra discount this week. This is our final week having “Lemonade” be put on priority promotion before we move onto Single #2.
Host: Your EP has three songs, correct?
Shannon: Yes.
Host: So will all three songs become singles?
Danity Kane: Yes.
Host: What’s Single #2?!
Dawn: You guys’ll just have to wait a bit and see. We’ll announce it towards the middle/end of the week, whatever day we get the finalized artwork really.
Host: Making this EP, what were your inspirations?
Aubrey: In a way, each other.
Shannon: Definitely.
Dawn: Yeah, we really were grasped by each other’s genres and unique voices. Shannon’s Country/Pop roots drew us to a more fresh vocal, for “Rhythm of Love” and “Rage” a lot. Aubrey’s Rock and Hip-Hop admiration inspired all three songs, and my Soul just kind of kicked in here and there with all three of the tracks. We just wanted to let each girl really have their righteous moments on the EP, and we’ll definitely continue that with our live performances and full-length album.
Host: What do you have to say to any of the nay-sayers who thought you couldn’t come back?
Aubrey: Well, they’re probably looking at us in last place on the current chart and getting their wish. But in our hearts, we know what we have to do. And we know how we’re gonna get to where we wanna go. It’s just a matter of destiny. But really, we may not be the original five of Danity Kane, but we’re coming back with a vengeance.
Shannon: Just because we had a messy start doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be counted out, that’s for sure.
Dawn: Absolutely. Absolutely. And like we mentioned earlier, if we chart in the middle/lower tier based on our talents and hard work, not some deal of desperation, we don’t really give a ****. But of course we do want success, but we think we’ve done good. I mean we had ONE televised performance last week. In ****ing AUSTRALIA and we STILL sold over 70.000 copies last week. I mean, if nay-sayers wanna go up against that, let ‘em.
Host: Well listen, we’re going to have to take a stop but it was amazing talking to you three and we wish your comeback the best of luck. Ladies and gentlemen, once again, the amazing Danity Kane!
Danity Kane: Thank you, bye!

Marina Covers Billboard Magazine
Marina Diamandis, better known as Marina & The Diamonds, has achieved huge success since her debut back in 2010 with her first studio album, The Family Jewels. Her second album, Electra Heart, can arguably be considered her more successful album of the two. Her third addition to her album discography, Myths, has yet to be released but has certainly garnered quite a lot of attention from the general public. The album is planned to be released on July 19th, although that wasn't it's first set date. "I needed it out faster than it was coming, for my own sake and for my fans" Diamandis explained earlier in the month. It's original tracklist was released on Marina's twitter, tumblr, and facebook, but has been changed since it's announcement. We invited Marina to our offices to talk about her new album and release strategy for said album.
Quote:
Interviewer: Hello Marina, it's great seeing you. Are you excited for the album?
Marina: Excited is definitely an understatement! I am so ready for the album to be out, to tour again, and to just have that part of my life out there.
Interviewer: When do you plan on touring the album?
Marina: I really don't know! Maybe next month, the month after. It's up in the air right now honestly!
Interviewer: Any news on the tracklist of your album?
Marina: Yes! The original tracklist wasn't as consistent as I wanted it to be, it was very messy and didn't make sense. I had a few features on the album that won't be on the new tracklist, but that's mostly it. There are a few new songs and a few reworked songs. Maybe I'll rerelease the album with the outtakes! Haha
Interviewer: You're latest single is definitely a departure from your old music, is that what the album is like? Somewhat R&B, somewhat Rap, somewhat Pop?
Marina: I don't really think that it's really different from my older stuff. I rap in my accent, it sounds like me. People will recognize ME. I'm not switching genres with the album, it's always been like this. Maybe you should've noticed that before hand.
Interviewer: You're latest EP, The Money EP, charted pretty average on the charts. Do you expect your album to follow suit?
Marina: No, my album is something I've been working since I finished Electra Heart. It's not the same project it was when I started, because when I started it wasn't perfect. This new album is perfect. Mark my words.
Interviewer: A very personal video of you and Diplo was leaked online recently. What is your opinion on the leak? The video in general?
Marina: I think it's great! I had a fun time making it, why would I regret it afterwards? ME and Diplo are in a committed and loving relationship, we can do stuff like this. As for the leaker, I hope he or she is happy with themselves.
Interviewer: Thank you for coming by Marina! We can't wait for your new album!

Marina's new single "Happy Meal" is available to purchase now on iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon. "Myths", her new album, is available to pre order on iTunes now.

Britney Spears "The American Dream" ABC Special
-----------

-----------
Britney's "American Dream" Special aired tonight at 8/7 Central on ABC. The special celebrates the release of her new album "American Dream" as it follows Britney in the studio, at photo-shoots, and rehearsing for performances and videos. The main focus of the special is to promote the new album, as Spears performed 6 of her favorite songs from the album with intense choreography.
In The Studio
-The special showed various clips of Britney recording the album in the studio, singing the songs as fans got to hear her raw beautiful vocals. She was very involved in the production of the songs and direction of the album as shown in the special. Britney commented on the songs while singing them. Britney worked one on one with the producers and was the executive producer of the album. It also showed Britney writing/adjusting many lyrics throughout the long process.
Photo-shoots
-A quick segment showed Britney shooting the album cover and single covers for her album, as well as a shoot with Rihanna for the "Touchin' Me" single cover, the girls danced to Medusa and Gimme Your Best during the photo-shoot.
Rehearsals
-The Special showed a quick segment of Rihanna/Britney rehearsing for their upcoming music video (dance scenes only) as well as rehearsing for upcoming performances. There was also a segment devoted to the girls practicing their moon performance as they were adjusting their bodies and voices to prepare for the extreme difficulties of performing in space.
The Performances
Setlist:
-Gimme Your Best
-Body To Body
-Naughty Or Nice
-Where'd The Good Times Go?
-Sweet (Like A Lollipop)
-Touchin' Me
Gimme Your Best
The special opened with a performance of Gimme Your Best. Britney was inside a massive TV prop as she began singing Gimme Your Best. The "channel changed" every 20 seconds as the scenery + Britney's outfit changed inside the TV prop. Men kept trying to impress various versions of Spears (teacher, mom, dancer, pop star, etc) but Spears wasn't pleased with any of them. Britney then stepped out of the TV halfway into the song as the prop descended to under the stage. Britney's "special agents" came down from the ceiling attached to cables, the girls then all went into a circle formation for the Gimme Your Best technical dance break. They shimmied their breasts before moving down to the ground in a split as water rained down on their bodies. Britney then got up as army men came to the stage in a military tank. Britney got into her ring of fire as she twirled around singing the last chorus of Gimme Your Best live. Out of nowhere, a flying circular platform came Spears' way. Britney jumped on and flew off as the special faded to Britney in the studio recording "American Dream".
Body To Body
The second performance of the special. It started out with Ronaldo wearing no shirt and jeans on a large red bed as Britney began to strip-tease into her lingerie before moving onto the bed. Britney and Ronaldo moved and touched each other to the naughty lyrics of Body To Body. "Our bodies are synchronized, boy you got me mesmerized, I can't keep you off my mind. All I wanna do is be body to body tonight. Body to Body, oh body to body. Touch me baby just love me, show me you can **** me, baby just make me scream when we... are body to body". Britney and Ronaldo got off the bed as they moved closer center stage, he pulled her in as their lips almost touched before the stage faded to black and the special transitioned to more in studio sessions.
Naughty Or Nice
Britney stunned in the third performance of the night for Naughty or Nice. Half of the stage was white and angelic while the other half was red and dark. Britney had two outfits for the performance, one was a red lingerie set with sparking red boots and devil horns. The other consisted of a white lace coat, white lace bra top and underwear with white latex boots. Britney messed around with boys and haunted them like prey as the "naughty girl". As the "nice girl" Britney helped heal the wounded guys. She changed between outfits frequently throughout the performance with the help of several "magicians". She ended the performance wearing half of each outfit as she did a back handspring into a split, her body covered both the naughty and nice half as she said "Naughty or nice, you never know which you're gonna get tonight". The performance then faded to Britney during the album photo-shoot and single photo-shoot with Rihanna.
Where'd The Good Times Go?
Britney slowed things down for the fourth performance of the special with "Where'd The Good Times Go?". Britney sang this as a ballad on the piano, giving it her all vocal-wise. Her vocals carried a lot of emotions and strength and it definitely helped contrast the other up-beat and dance-filled performances. Spears' vocals were praised as critics claimed it was the best vocal performance of her career. After the song was over the stage faded to black and the special turned to Rihanna and Britney rehearsing for the space performance.
Sweet (Like A Lollipop)
The performance started out with a spotlight pointed at Britney sitting on a huge lollipop prop wearing a bra/underwear set with pieces of candy attached, Britney also held a lollipop in her hand and had a pink head-mic. Britney sang the beginning on the lollipop before the spotlight zoomed out and revealed a full candyland stage set. Britney then jumped off the lollipop and moved to the beginning of the board. The performance involved Britney moving through the replica of the candyland board game stage as she faced various obstacles. When Britney got to the end she performed a 30 second dance break as guys surrounded her and started touching her, she ended the song saying "You want be so bad cuz I'm sweet... like a lollipop", Britney then licked her circular lollipop as the performance faded to Rihanna and Britney rehearsing for the Touchin' Me video.
Touchin' Me
The special ended with a big performance of Touchin' Me. Britney and Rihanna were trapped in a golden jail cell at the beginning of the performance, they moved around the jail cell and eventually Britney and Rihanna were able to move their bodies through the holes and get on top of the cell. They performed a dance break on top of the sell as "heavy security personnel" was called to the stage to capture the girls. They jumped off the cage and began running away as their ladies dropped from the ceiling to back them up and fight off the security. The girls ran up a ramp onto a higher part of the stage where they were all alone. Britney and Rihanna were wearing black latex suits and they began ripping parts of each others suits off, revealing skin as they started touching each other while singing Touchin' Me. Several guys came to the stage grabbing Rih and Brit separately, the girls pushed them away to the second chorus of Touchin' Me, uninterested in the men. Once all the guys were off they performed a huge 30 second dance break in their own individual ring of fire on opposite sides of the stage. They then walked towards each other and kissed as the stage grabbed each others bodies as smoke covered the stage and the performance was over.
A picture of the "American Dream" album cover as well as the "Touchin' Me" single cover aired on the special after the performance with a message to "Get Britney's hot new music". The special then faded to black. Several ww trends involved the special: #BrtineyRihannaTouchinMe #BritneyAmericanDream #BritneyABCSpecial. The special was a success reaching over 14.6 million viewers.
