Xtina's sales have absolutely nothing to do with Beyonce's.
Also, Say Something was a massive hit purely because of Xtina. When will Beyonce turn a flop indie single into a smash Top 10 hit?

Beyoncé needs hits, this is certain.
Every popular artist needs hits to maintain popularity. Beyoncé is no different. Some members like to use the "she makes money from touring" logic, but the logic is flawed, seeing as one the main reasons why Beyoncé makes money from touring is because she mostly performs her major hits. See how that works, yes? Consumers aren't as excited to see new material from a new album performed on tour (unless the new material were hits) as they are excited to see "the classic hits" performed. This is not a new concept. So, if Beyoncé wants to continue being popular (and believe me, she does) and if Beyoncé wants to continue to have successful tours (and believe me, she does) then Beyoncé, like every other performing artist, needs radio hits to sustain a long successful career. It's just good ol' fashioned common sense, kids.

Drunk in Love was a moderate hit.
Pretty Hurts was a tragic flop.

Was I talking about Pretty Hurts? Did you read my sentence? Want me to read it to you? I was talking about the urban only single that went NUMBER ONE on the only format it was released to. Try again bb!

She's a great touring act and album seller yet she's been known for everything but her music? Ok.

True! I mean did she ever even perform Partition live on TV besides the recording tour clip at the BET awards that occurred 3 months after the single was released? Answer for that is nope!

It had a Grammy performance, high streaming, and high AI and it still didn't do anything. Let's not act like people didn't know it was out. People weren't buying the song which is why it barely scrapped platinum. Dark Horse was also smashing at the time so theres that.

134 Al is not high in 2014. DH had twice Bey airplays.

XO is still a miss and Pretty Hurts is the biggest pop-single-bomb in a long time. Even Just a Fool and G.U.Y. sold more

You.... Pretty Hurts is almost non existent on Radio. only urban plays it and urban never pushed a song on itunes. no surprise. I'll bookmark this in case she performs it at VMAs and make it a Top20 hit

I mean that people would go to see her on tour because they like her as a performer but judging from the chart success of her latest singles people aren't that into her music anymore, and yes her album sold well but the singles are what most people hear on the radio and she doesn't have that exposure. She needs to come back with a huge hit to establish herself once and for all.

Pretty Hurts is doing exceptionally well for a pop single that hasn't been sent to pop radio.

As long as her performance is as grounded, realistic, compelling, and believable as it was in the first movie!

Not necessarily look at Prince, Madonna, Cher they havent had big hits in a while but they can still have huge tours. They have the "classic hits" the same way Beyonce has her's. Aside from the fact that they are amazing performers. As long as you have a strong catalog of songs which Beyonce already has and know how to work a stage. You dont have to worry about selling a ticket they will sell themselves. #1 Hit or not.

Everyone needs hits, especially #1 singles, please stop finding excuses for her underperformance.

Yes and No! TBH
Can Beyonce sell 3M WW without successful singles? Yes (4, BEYONCÉ)!
Can Beyonce have impressive album sales without SUCCESSFUL singles? No (DIL,B'day, IASF)
All her albums before 4 sold Above 6M WW, because they all had big singles!
I'm a Beyonce fan, but lets not deny the fact that she needs NOT #1s but successful singles to have good album sales!
