Their advertising their new hair straightening treatment to black women with the slogan "look smart". Black women don't naturally have straight hair so that's saying they naturally look stupid.
How is it racist? I dont see how it is. I mean it can offend some people if they take it the wrong way.... Idk....
Equating long straight hair with looking smart is completely idiotic and insensitive to those who don't have that exact hair type. Also add in the fact how a lot of women of color are shamed for their natural locs. And the way to be pretty or look good/smart/acceptable in work places is if they perm their hair.

That makes sense. Sometimes people just have to explain stuff to me..... I'm a little slow with some things....
The fact that ppl are saying they dont see the issue !
Black women don't have naturally straight hair. They're using a black female in an advertisement basically saying "straighten your hair & you'll look smarter".

Stop being so oversensitive for god's sake
If they used a blonde girl people would still pull the dumb blonde stereotype card
It's just a dumb slogan, not racist at all.
That's still bad. Insinuating that straight hair makes one look neat or stylish is still awful. That ad is offensive, get over it.
This doesn't make any sense
"Revlon, brand new hair dye gives you the perfect jet black hairstyle. Look chic and rock on."
Now would you consider this to be shady against blonde women?
