Azealia on American Idol

Performing on American Idol last night to promote her new single Paradiso along with the album that's been taking the world by storm, Azealia Banks appeared on the talent show to perform Paradiso. Attracting 11 million television viewers, Azealia is credited as the sole reason for the 50% increase in viewers for American Idol, bringing this talent show the best audience they've had in 3 years. Twitter went crazy for Azealia's performance of Paradiso, trending #AzealiaOnAmericanIdol for 3 hours+. Paradiso's performance helped the song greatly on iTunes bringing the song's sales to a great increase as well as bringing the album's sales to an increase.

The outfit Azealia wore during the performance of Paradiso was a custom design done by Valentino, Azealia's favorite designer. The gown Azealia wore was in multiple shades of blue. Made of a chiffon sheer fabric with the fabric leaping over each shoulder like straps. The gown was split in the front until right above the belly button where Azealia had a pink seashell waist belt. The luxurious gown flowed to the floor where the the shades of blues all scraped the floor with its beauty. Split in the middle, Azealia's long chocolate-like legs were available for the world to see. One could see a pair of panties under Azealia's beach-blue Valentino gown which were made of delicately arranged pink seashells, matching the belt around her waist. Azealia's hair was split in the middle and the shade of green one would find in a Florida ocean. A braid went around Azealia's head over her wavy extensions. On top of her head, Azealia had crown of pink seashells circling her head. Completing the look, Azealia had on a pair of heels that were complete with matching pink seashells and blue chiffon straps over the toes.

On stage with Azealia, muscular dark skinned male dancers sat in clear glass water filled boxes behind Azealia with merman tails swimming around and perching on the edge of the glass. There are two of these glass water filled boxes on stage and they're parallel from eachother and in between them is a glass staircase and a campy looking blue/green door which Azealia appears out of at the beginning of the performance. Rapping the verse with the camera tightly zoomed in on her face painted with images of the sea, Azealia stood at the top of the staircase as the mermen danced and swam in their tanks. As Azealia rapped the verse, the camera began to slowly zoom out as Azealia walked gracefully down the staircase. By the time Azealia is at the end of the stairs, the first verse is over and Azealia lifts up her left arm, right hand holding her mic as she began singing the chorus to Paradiso. With each "o-o-o" the lights flickered and smoke covered the stage. With the help of stage lights, the smoke matched all costumes and gowns giving it a blue/green tint. Azealia then began wandering the stage and rapping the second verse of Paradiso. During the second chorus, Azealia tucked her mic in her bra as she began to do a dance break choreographed by Yanis Marshall. After a few more verses and dance breaks, the performance was over. A bow and a grand applause, the announcer then made sure to tell everyone to buy Paradiso on iTunes. The performance has since been uploaded on Azealia's YouTube account.
