Since I'm #kuntbrigade, as soon as my immediate elation passed I also went to dark thoughts haha. My original worst-case scenario was that she announced this too early and it might not actually happen. (Like, she didn't say, "I am dropped," in the present tense.) Buuut then I took a step back and remembered that she waited weeks to deliver us this news. Surely she was waiting before announcing specifically so that she knew it was guaranteed when she opened her mouth.
Sooo now my new worst-case scenario is that she has to leave behind BWET (or BWET
and Fantasea II) with Interscope. But A) I just rather doubt that's the case (it is called the
#swindle after all, and keeping her album might be exactly what she meant by that!), and B) if it is the case, we know that she knew that going in yet went ahead with it anyway. I.e., she thought it was worth it to just put the **** behind her, even at the cost of losing her hard work. (Hypothetically.)
If so, we'll mourn the album we'll never get to hear, absolutely. It will be a long grieving for me. But we'll move on knowing that she can now user her immense creativity however she wants to serve us as much music as she'd like. And if any among us doesn't trust Azealia to handle her career at this point, it's time for them to stop being a Kunt because this bitch is going independent and thus has the wheel whether they like it or not.
TRUST HA!
