I'm not defending them. I'm used to it, y'all are acting brand new.
They didn't include Spa's in the base game for Sims 3. Now they aren't including pools instead.
& instead of paying for an EP for Nightclubs etc, this time it comes with the base game.

Each base game always has ALWAYS removed features and added others.
It's always been luck of the draw. Last time it was proper community lots & spa's, but you got an open neighbourhood.
This time it's pools and toddlers, but you get community lots, Downtown (aka Nightclubs) and 'Worlds'.

The things such as open world, etc. you're all not complaining about, yet the two biggest complaints are Toddlers and Pools.

Pools = The same as Spa's.
Toddlers = Same as Young Adults.

You all invested in a franchise that makes money from expansions. The base game will include features and exclude others. You get actual community lots like Nightclubs etc. in the base game instead of having to buy Nightlife/Late Night type expansion pack.

So instead of paying for a NL type expansion, they will make you pay for another expansion instead.

Once the first EP comes out, you'll be able to get the Sims 4 and the first EP for the same price as the actual game was at launch. If you want features and are happy with the Sims 3, stay with it.

I waited until Pets before I got the Sims 3.

Only a minority of Sims fans are complaining about the actual things that matter like how the game operates, how the game functions. That I can understand.

Complaining about "oh we don't have this" and "this is missing" in a game that relies on EP is pointless. Duh!

they don't include spa for a better things like a open world perhaps? it's a BIGGER feature than a weird emotion, this is the next generation of TS it should be BIGGER not SMALLER, but I'm not only talking about pools and toddler, I've been playing this game since 2001 if we keep feeding their ego the sims 5 will probably only include walls and doors with 2 houses per neighborhood.

the sims 4 is not embracing the player in general, I mean I'm the type of person who only build a house, I want to build more complex houses in the next generation of TS, something that I won't being able to build on TS3 but look they only focused on CAS

I mean they can make this game a blend of GTA V (without violence) + the sims, they have the power to do it but instead they giving us this barely finished game

I don't get the focus on pools and toddlers either. Open world and Story Progression were the giant leaps forward for this series. How can anyone be here for a lifeless neighborhood where the only non-elders are your own family and all your neighbors (what few you have this time around) sit in their houses doing nothing waiting to die and vanish? I guess they felt compelled to scale it back so granny Ruth wouldn't have to replace her P486?

Did anyone else have hopes for another laudable evolutionary leap? I figured maybe this time they'd remove rabbit holes since we've had glimpses of that in both TS2 and TS3 and well, they did remove them, only to replace them with nothing. Corrupted wish granted.

For me it's a blessing in disguise how little improvement they've made graphically since 3 will always > 4 at this rate. Zero reason to updowngrade.

Everything that was new but a bit faulty in TS3 was just removed rather than being improved upon. It's one thing to take out CASt but it's another thing to drop life stages and pools which are Sim icons. It's a mess tbh. One thing I can say is people were never this upset when it was revealed we'd have rabbit holes in TS3...

Spa's wasn't included because they wanted you to buy the EP that makes it available.
Same way they are going to make Toddlers and Pools an expansion.

The Sims 4 doesn't contain anything LESS than The Sims 3, it just contains something DIFFERENT instead. So your whole argument about the Sims 5 getting less is invalid.

Look how much more realistic and better the house is on The Sims 4. You can actually make your house look like a house, rather than a box. And the roads actually looks like a road rather than a random texture square.

And no they can't. The Sims 4 running THAT many live family's all at once would require hardware most Sims fan couldn't afford. The whole Neighbourhood in The Sims 3 is constantly running. GTA uses a loading technique with pre-programmed NPC's that just have to walk and look pretty, they don't have active thought processes etc.

Most Sims 3 fans can't run the game at full scale. And you want to quad-driple that?

The Sims 3 isn't going to stop working when The Sims 4 comes out. Wait until they fix your problems with Expansions.

It's no use going "yeah but" when nothing you say will change anything. Just accept it and focus on what is coming.

Why are you acting like expansions are a good thing when they should be things that are in the base game? It's a terrible business practice that only works for EA because their target audience is uneducated children and older women. It's cheating people. It's not right.

Most people that play The Sims (the GP, if you will) don't even buy the expansion packs. They just stick with the base game or wait until things like the complete collection comes out.

I'm not going to say anything on gameplay because they still haven't shown us anything about it other than one trailer on emotions (CAS is impressive but I could just use the demo for that.. right?). If they add enough content to make up for that, sure, I'll be fine. But so far they haven't done anything to show that.

My issues with the game don't stem from losing toddlers or pools but that they haven't really given us demonstrative gameplay to show us that it is okay that these features are missing. CAS is incredible, I will give them that. The Make A Parent/Sibling is a fantastic feature. But I need to see what content I can DO with these fantastic sims before I feel safe in buying a game that has removed what were some essential aspects for some simmers.

The reality is this was supposed to be online all the time. That got scrapped cause of Sim City and other factors. They still had to release something this year and EA being greedy made them release a half ass job. It's a win for them cause now they get base sales plus higher EP sales for things that have ALWAYS been in the game. Greed. They need to be bought out or something
